Appetites. Great photos, great writing. But ultimately the recipes are either too involved (days of prep) or just dont live up to their hype. Im sure there are some good ones in there, I didnt try all of them, but it just fell flat for me. And there are a lot that just by reading, you can tell they got no pop.

Ps looked up les halles and it looks way more interesting. Going to give it a try.
Oh I know the book. Actually, I was given it by a friend and gave it away without ever making anything out of it. I agree that I didn't care for that one. Les Halles is more to my taste, un-fussy French recipes.
