Tina Turner just died at the age of 83. Her husband Ike subjected her to a lot of physical violence before she left him. They were popular in the 1960s. Their career had completely bottomed out. She started over as a solo act and became a super star. I wasn't a fan of her solo career and probably put this up before, but it's a great performance.

I couldn't get to sleep after that despite meditating, breathing exercises etc.. I even took such a small dose (half a pill - they don't even make that size) of a psychiatric medicine that I stopped taking. i thought it would help me sleep which it used to at least sometimes. It didn't despite more breathing, meditating, whatever else I know and relaxation recordings on youtube.

I have been up 24 hours and still have a virus. and just finished some ring rows and ring pushups. Had to do something physical. Before this I had called America to talk to my friend who had fallen on his head whose sister was going to put him in hospice. I talked to her and he's going back to the nursing home where he fell. She doesn't like it cause the care isn't the greatest but he wants its and somehow got readmitted to the dementia ward where he was before (he doesn't have it but that was the only available spot) I talked about 12 minutes and told her some of what's going on here. I never got to talk to him because I felt like I was so tired I was going to sleep. I didn't and here I am.

I had talked to a friend from Athens, Greece this evening. I've known since 1967. He has a son in Manhattan who is HRV positive and was one of the first group to get all the medicines when AIDS was new. There were a lot of doctors practicing then and all the pharmacies stocked them in Manhattan. He told me those doctors no longer treat HIV positive patients. He sees nurse's aides and no pharmacy in Manhattan even stocks the medicines he needs which cost my friend 4,000 US dollars a month that he has to pay because his son has no insurance. Also no friends, no significant other and whose Greek mother I met in 1978 in Manhattan has disappeared and can't be found.

. My friend retired early at the age of 48. He still has money to send. His son is afraid to live in Greece because he might not get medicines. The Greek medical system is really dreadful, so it's very likely the truth. Anyhow I thought his son was in stable physical condition. It's not true. he has cancer, gout and is deteriorating.

I know what the children's cancer ward is like. I told my wife we lucked out. Our daughter was only there for 6 months and the cancer never came back. although another one could occur due to the horrible chemotherapy when I was sure she'd die. She gets checkups every year to make sure her heart is OK which it is so far. She got the double whammy. A terrible depression and like me has taken all the medicines in this country. She also did electric shock therapy to no avail and is doing ketamine. I read about psychedelic treatment which apparently is legal in Australia and is being tested here. I hope it helps because nobody should have to live with the suffering she has gone through in her life.

Another guy from our Columbia dorm, Gary, I met in 1967 (who lives not far from me) had a son die of leukemia. I found him online and sent emails, but he never replied. Gary used to come in my dorm room, hold the light bulb hanging from the ceiling like it was a microphone and I blasted music like Wilson Pickett while he danced. He was a real trip. I lost touch with him in 1968 and saw him 17 years later in Jerusalem at a wedding which was a real shock. I hung out with him and his friends who lived in Manhattan when I visited there.
I know his younger brother, Mat, who told me some years ago that Gary was pretty broken and didn't want to talk to me. I wrote Mat some months ago and he said we're all fine. He has two other brothers.

Life goes on. Live it the best you can. Appreciate your friends, family and the people you love. You never know when it will get taken away. I know this really happened but it seems like a crazy dream right now. It’s now 5 AM according to the clock. Tell me if you think I’m hallucinating. I couldn’t write stories like this.
