Re: The couch thread

I believe so. It's funny how the Games AREN'T open to everyone, only to those who train Crossfit. I strongly suspect that for the first games there were some folks NOT associated with Crossfit who were going to show that their training regimens were comparable or even better for the events. I like ...

Oooh oooh! I know the answer Dr. John,

take your current front squat 1RM, double that number. That is your new goal for a 1RM front squat.

Wolf et al were never part of the Santa Cruz gym. Robb, Dave and Nick up at what used to be crossfit north were the first affillliates. Robb's a smart cookie who conducts himself like a gentleman in all things interweb. Dave and Nick are decent level headed people in person. I really hope the "...

There's no trickle down or farm system, it's mostly mid-20s to mid-40s folks taking them up.

If we are to continue piling on GG, we really need to up the game. Unchecked aggression is boring. I provide a counterpoint quote, without attribution. Thought this was the fairest bit of hyperbole I'd read re: @fit in a while. . Greg Glassman is singlehandedly responsible for more people actively p...

Interesting sidenote: last time I was with Mark and huge magazine writer was there and only took notes because Mark doesn't want/need/crave the press. Moreover, Mark told me that he hates how the magazines dilute the message. .. Not suprising. Mr. Twight has spent more time with the outside mag/roc...

I had the director of Crossfit Hawaii at my house the other day. I'm selling him some of my old equipment and he came to pick it up. The plan was to bury him under a fresh layer of concrete, but he was just so damned fresh faced and sincere. He even asked me what forums I frequented...LOL. "Oh...

Really, really, really good debate on the use of belts for squats at CF today. One example: The only reason people use weight belts and wrists wraps is because they can't lift the weight without them, i.e. they can't lift that weight. You can lift huge amounts of weight with a weight belt, but you'...

There is always a whole lot of goofiness when it comes to WOD comments like that. 205 press isn't bad, though...this is the overhead press, not the bench press. I see a lot of XFers not being able to OHP their way out of a paper back though. Yeah 205 is a respckible press. Perhaps he just transpose...

Why are people drawn to @fit? Simple. Do not be confused. I think Mark is totally self absorbed but a truly hard man.
