Re: Anthony Bourdain...Parts Unknown

And trains at Renzo Gracie's Academy in NYC when he is in town. When I hear a celebrity trains (which usually means 'dabbles') in BJJ, it doesn't change my opinion of him. (Now, if he reaches black or even brown, I will respect that that is a lot of hours on the mat.) http://fiveouncesofpain.com/wp...

Re: Hermit survives 27 years of Maine winters

Seems to me's guilty of one count of B&E and petty theft, and then maybe only if the business presses charges (which they might not). The rest he most likely copped to without the benefit of a lawyer to inform him of his rights (assuming he was read his rights). I think we have a whole thread about...

I didn't watch this one, but some victims of previous beheadings appeared to have been drugged.

Random Facebook profile I found.

Too good not to share. The best part is I stumbled onto this randomly while searching for someone else.

It took me a while to figure out that the fellow (who is completely nuts) makes these lists to atone for past sins.

Re: Thoughts on Handguns?

The best way to choose a gun is to talk to the guys at shops and firing ranges and try hold as many as you can. I advise not believing a single word the gun store clerks say. Ergonomics, by that I mean how the pistol "points," are overrated. Use the sights and don't worry too much about how the pis...

Also, never run combloc steel case ammo through your mini14. Not because of the cases, but because the bullets are bi-metal and they will wear out your barrel faster than normal. This is great advice. It is crazy how the same gun barrel, shooting plain old cheap federal stuff will last for 10,000 r...

Re: The couch thread

The cunts talking about Crossfit being anti-fragile make me howl with laughter...mostly due to the fact that they've sucked Taleb's dick so hard that his jiz is coming out their asshole. Pavel lays claim to Simple & Sinister being anti-fragile, too. The term is the title of a best-selling book, so ...

I forgot to mention that the CZ P-07 and P-09 have polymer frames and the weight is reasonable.

(I have a CZ Shadow for gun games. It is all steel and heavy.)

Re: Thoughts on Handguns?

Do you mind being a semi-early adopter? If not... CZ P-07 (semi-compact) if you plan to get a conceal carry licence. CZ P-09 (full-size) if it's going to be a bedside gun. Relatively new pistols, but CZ knows what they are doing and the internals have been around in one form or another for a while. ...

Spiral (Engrenages) - French police procedural on Netflix

Spiral (French name Engrenages , which means gears .) It's a gritty police procedural set in Paris. Each season runs 8 to 12 episodes and focuses a detective squad trying to solve a murder. There are other minor story arcs involving the defense lawyers, judges, and prosecutors. To sum it up, it's mo...

What matters is that every time I hear the word CrossFit in a gen pop setting, I immediately hear a horror story of someone who knew someone who got terribly injured. Everytime I hear Crossfit now in a gen pop setting, it's always about someone who used to do CF for a few months, then stopped, most...

Re: 50 Caliper for T.O.M. , Batboy, Shapecharge, etc.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8U-OgoR7EVo That video is not of a .50 cal hitting a human. I think a varmint hunter digiscoped/filmed rock chuck kills. (Besides the fact that bodies don't fly through the air like that and that whatever was hit doesn't look human, another clue is that the spotter's ...

Re: Anyone Here A Mason?

You can't trust Brit tabloids. Headline is misleading. Someone rented the space for an swingers party. The truth is not as funny as a drug-fueled orgy of Masons. The Battle Creek Freemasons refused to comment on camera for the TV station, but insisted that the orgy was not part of the secret society...

Re: Jesse Ventura's reputation

I've already figured out Mooney is a hack that's done shoddy work. So first he writes in a blog that police chiefs "heard" about the incident (does he mean, "heard" about it after an account was published in a best selling book? Cause I "heard" about it then too. Or does he mean the police chiefs he...

Re: Jesse Ventura's reputation

I had no idea about it, as repeated above several times, until this morning when I did some digging. Yes, of course, any story of a secret squirrel number that validates former SEALs or any other unit is laughable. So laughable one would almost be given to believe it was said tongue in cheek, excep...

Re: Jesse Ventura's reputation

The first, I again wonder why Ventura is believable and Kyle not. What money did Kyle make from whom in telling this supposed lie? I don't know if the Ventura story is true or not, but he could have lied to sell books alone. The first time I heard about Kyle was after he told the Ventura anecdote o...
