Tatoo shops in MN?
I want to get my tattoo touched up. Any of you MN IGxrs know of reputable shops? I have heard Holy Mackerel is good. For the rest of you any tips or advice about getting tattoos recolored would be appreciated? I got the two that I have in CA.

Original artist is usually best. That said look for a coverup specialist.
My Xmas gift this year is 3 hours of custom work. I have to design something.

Search for Yurkew. The dad was the preeminent artist in Mpls for decades, but I think he passed away. His kid is also quite renown. The shop was in Uptown, probably still is, and everyone I know who got work done there was impressed. They used to have several artists who all had to pass Yurkew's standards. If the shop is still there, it would be a place to talk to several artists about what you want done.
Also, there is one called Electric Dragon (or something along those lines) that has a great rep.

I will evaluate the tramp stamps on the hotties in the SW metro for you and survey them as I go along.

That is the focus and work ethic that I expect here at IGx.High Velocity Lie-Nap! wrote:I will evaluate the tramp stamps on the hotties in the SW metro for you and survey them as I go along.

Hey, it won't be easy given the winter jackets and UGG boots as wintertime obstacles, but I might just need to start hitting the fancy pants gym (Lifetime in Chan) again for this reason alone.Holeyfraggaroley wrote:That is the focus and work ethic that I expect here at IGx.High Velocity Lie-Nap! wrote:I will evaluate the tramp stamps on the hotties in the SW metro for you and survey them as I go along.

I got a Dave Yurkew tattoo in 1994. It's held up pretty well. The shop was on Nicollet south of Lake St. at that time. He was a intimidating guy.

Perhaps you could wait until the original artist is out on parole and have him touch it up.Holeyfraggaroley wrote:I want to get my tattoo touched up. Any of you MN IGxrs know of reputable shops? Since I've met you and you did not strike me as the kind of guy who is easily intimidated, that dude must have either been a bad mo fo or a gimp released from a basement.Mr Clean wrote:He was a intimidating guy.

I like to think I can handle myself on a good day. The dude was very big, very tatted and very old school biker type. If I recall he was wearing bib overalls. There's a big difference between old school biker types and the newer version. Knowing the difference is important if you know what I mean.
