16k yesterday/116k total. I like the new logbook.

As an aside, I figured out a technical warmup that gets the glutes working more. Put the right heel in the flex plate normally, but put the left heel on the floor with the ball of the left foot under the flex plate in what will be a staggered stance. Row normally for 250m or so with the staggered stance (let the left heel come off the floor), switch and repeat for 1000m then go to regular rowing. I've been happy with the results and fired the drill off to friends coaching collegiately. Good for a few more watts and a stronger leg drive and an even sorer butt.

Thursday

5K - 22:08 Not a PR, but a hard effort and my fastest 5k in a while

Today

15K 1:09:24 My distance at an hour is a PR. I was just shy of 13K. My pace was 2:18.8 and that's just .7 slower than my pace for my 10K last week. I think I can hold 2:20 or better for a half and beat my time from last year. We'll see if I have the guts to do one next week.

I'm within striking distance. Going to knock 10KK+ tomorrow and depending on my new schedule and work load I may finish up Monday or it may be early Xmas eve morning.

60 Min Row - 12904M - This is a PR for an hour. I wanted to quit at one point after 11K, but slowed down and then got back on pace. I think 13K is doable, but probably not during the challenge since I won't be taking a day off and have some other PR things I want to try before that (Like sub 46 10K).

Cate, when I have a goal for a longer piece like an hour or half marathon, I usually plan it in a sort of interval fashion. I'll have a goal pace that I want to hit, then have a pace slightly faster and slightly easier that will average out to that goal pace. Then I'll set up some sort of quasi interval scheme that will let me hit the overall goal. Just makes it mentally easier to vary the pace rather then have to grind out the same thing for a long period of time.
I don't have a lot of experience with vampires, but I have hunted werewolves. I shot one once, but by the time I got to it, it had turned back into my neighbor's dog.
