PR Thread

Post by Bram » Thu May 05, 2016 9:50 pm

Lately I've seen a few posts of martial arts belt promotions, running a long distance race, or lifting a heavy ass weight.

It would be good to have a place so that those accomplishments don't get pushed off the main page and quickly forgotten. Or maybe don't even get shared in the first place, because people are intimidated by making a new post about it.

Last night I got laid (it's been a while) with the wife. Does that count as a PR?

505 from a 3 inch deficit.

405 for 12 from a 3 inch deficit.

Only counts if it was anal.

C&O 100 last weekend - second buckle. Slower, but crappier weather. Plus I'm older. Three weeks after dropping at 100k in Umstead.
So it was also a redemption run.

14 feet on weight over bar with the 42 pound old man weight. I was all over 15 but timing was off and I was running out of gas.

I like how Clint Darden reset all of his PR's for during Chemo and then after Chemo. More humane than chasing your 26 year old self.

As a married man with a recent kid, I would say yes.

Mine. Had it been someone else's I would have claimed PR no doubt.

OPP PR's are best left to private password protected bulletin boards...jus saying.

550 to 600 deadlift in less than 10 weeks.

265 to 315 paused bench in 8 weeks. Plenty of room to spare, shoulder is good. Oddly enough, elbow pain is a thing for me, now. Wasn't ever an issue back when I was competing.

And I've squatted four weeks in a row. Up to 205 for 5 on the SSB...knee pain holding.

First meet in several years coming up in September. Excited to rub shoulders with some old friends.

Shit numbers, but, it is what it is.

Embarrassed to post this because most of y'all warm up with more than this, but:

275 (lbs not kg) ATG squat with five second pause in the hole.
When I was half my age all my squats were to parallel so I've never done anything heavy in a full squat.
I'd like to do a double body weight but I think that will take another year at least.
In any event, that's my pr at 47 years old.

Thanks, but it's kind of cheating, because all I'm doing is making up ground I lost a long time ago.

Haven't hit any real PR's yet.

Thanks. I've looked around and many guys just a few years older than me are looking really frail. So that's led me to focus on the squat this year.

Thanks. I've enjoyed working on squats. Its a lesson in humility, since there are high school girls who weigh half what I do who squat a lot more. On the other hand, the progress has been steady and I think I have a ways to go before I peak. We'll see.
