Saturday:
Ironically, I slept 9 hrs, but this rarely happens :-({|=
Took my 24kg kb to the playground at the bay.
Warm up: 15 squats, 10 hindu push ups, 15 sit ups, 8 pull ups, 8l/8r slrdl.
20 swings, pull ups, 20 swings, 6 pull ups, 20 swings, 5 pus, 20 swings, 5 pus, 20 swings, 2x15 swings, 20 swings, 5 pus.
Later: 30 minutes qigong, 3xyang tai chi 24 form
Today:
2x 15 squats, 10 hindu push up, 15 situps
10 min [email protected], 5x 15 goblet squats @ 24 kg, 3x10 russian twist @ 35 lbs
Back to normal with 5 hrs sleep.
work 7am to 1pm @ Cosmsodemonic Coffee Co. Work out. Then 3:30to? in restaraunt hell :-({|=

Warm up with 15 squats, 15 pushups, 15 situps, 8 pullups, 8L/8R slrdl w/ 24 kg KB.
Repeat
3x(1,2,3,4) C&P Ladder @24 kg, rotated with 3x5 pullups
3x10 deck squat(bodyweight), 9 more pull ups (total of 40 for the workout- I've never done that) <<<<q

I have Mondays off from both jobs, so maybe later some Hsing I

Never got around to Hsing I on Monday.
Yesterday
Worked 430am- 100 @Cosmodemonic Coffee Co, napped, picked up 6th grader at school and then Restaurant Hell from 330- 930. Slow night again, home early
Today
15 squats, 15 pushups, 15 situps, 8 pull ups, repeat
birdball- 20L/20R swings
5x1 weighted chins- never tried these before, I could definitely do more
20L/20R swings
30L/30R oalccj, switch hands every 10
40L/40R snatch
3x yangtc 24
since probably very few people saw my intro, I'm 37, 6' 185.
Picked up a kettlebell at Dicks and ETK last year, after not lifting weights in 13 yrs.
Spent that time with mostly Chinese IMA, dabbled briefly in Pilates, did a lot of push ups and sit ups. 2 yrs ago I got more serious about consistent body weight exercise.
Goals: general health and fitness, bring together kbs, calisthenics and hsing i/ima(Igx seems well suited to this), address strength imbalance in legs(wobbly right knee), look good naked, not go back to being a tight muscley heart attack candidate with Nixon shoulders(me @ 23)

Thank you. Nice to know someone's read this thing. The number of Hsing i guys here was part of the appeal. My first two IMA teachers were against weights, and when I started that was fine for me, I had always lifted stupid and my body was pretty messed up. My real teacher(10+yrs) never said anything about weights, he just didn't want us relying on strength over technique.
Now I'm trying to play around with incorporating everything into one big picture. I've gotten some good ideas here already.

4x5 snatch each side. I haven't really snatched this much weight before. I'll start doing it more often.

Greystuff, thanks for the tip. I took a quick look at cqc10's stuff, and plan on a closer look as soon as I have time.
Sunday
Work 5am- 1, 330-1030, no workout. My knee was tightening up on me, front and back side.
Monday
Took it easy today, w/ some hindu pushups, a few squats, and bicycle crunches. Didn't count reps. Also, some qigong and stretching.
Tuesday- After voting, went to the playground and did 3x8 pullups, various grips.
Later
Warmup w/ some cals and joint mobility(not Sonnon's stuff, just from the warmup in my IMA classes),
24kg KB, 25 2h swings, 3x(1,2,3,4) C&P ladders, 25L/25R snatches(sets of 5), 25 more swings.
Before work I'll do some Hsing I
I need to watch out for that knee.

Pissing down rain during last snatch set, I wanted to do one more set, but I left.

10 hours sleep, woke up feeling like I played two rugby matches yesterday.
Warm up with some cals, planks and joint mobility stuff
5 minutes turkish get-ups w/35lbs
4x10 hindu pushups, 4x15 deck squats,alternating. Really took the pushups slowly and worked the stretching hard
3x10 russian twists w/35lbs
It felt more like a warmup than a workout, but my body feels much better than it did this morning. I have an easy schedule for the next four days and should be able to work hard.

Qigong and Hsing I Pi Chuan
2x15 squats, push ups and sit ups, 2x10 each leg walking lunges
With 35lb KB, oalccj, 30 reps each side, switching every 10 reps, didn't keep time
2xYang Tai Chi 24 form

The qigong that I do is based on the movements of the BK Frantzis "Opening the enrgy gates" set.
Back in 94 and 95 I trained with a student of his in NYC for eight months, and did several workshops with Frantzis. I like the movements, but modified it with stuff from my next teacher, who I trained with for 10 yrs. He didnt teach much qigong, just forms and aikido-like applications practice.
I have completely disregarded all the water method dissolving the energy blocks bs.

I'm really experimenting right now with what works best for me. Looking back at my log for the past few weeks I'm not sure I'm working as efficiently as I can, but I'll keep playing around and develop a template. I'm learning a lot by reading other peoples logs.

Arms give out first. I'm challenging myself with push ups, pull ups and KB C&P. I know my numbers are unimpressive, but what can I say? I'm weak. I get some cardio work from swings. My lower body just doesn't get a good workout. With winter coming( today it was here, actually), I think I'm going to treat myself to a gym membership for a few months. I'll deadlift, which I've never done, and squat, which I haven't done in about 15 yrs. I'll generally try to build my strength, and in the spring I'll get back into playing outdoors on the monkey bars and playing with the kookballs.

Thursday, another looooong work day. Re-read some of ETK before bed. Took a closer look at the program minimum.

warmup circuit: 15 each squats, pushups, sit ups, 8l/r walking lunges, 5 chins, repeat
Workout with 24kg KB
5x(1,2,3) C&P alternated w/ chins as per ETK
5x20 2h swings
Until it gets too cold outside, I'll try the program minimum, w/ variety days that include TGU's, squats of various types, push ups, pull ups and ab work. Then I'll join a gym and focus more on barbell presses, deads and squats, with bodyweight stuff and C2 stuff. I'm just trying to figure out what I'm doing as I go along and focus on gpp.
Turned 38 today.

-The weighted chins didn't feel like much until I started the pushups. I planned on 5x20 but there was no way.
-Tai Chi felt good. On the second time through my arms felt more connected to the dantien than they have in a while. Benefit of fatigue. I need to be more consistent in IMA practice. It's been getting shorted as I try to get some muskles back.
