Monday 3/8/10
15 minutes qigong
BW Circuit: 25 Squats, 15 Push ups, 10 Sit ups, 7 or 8x through, I lost track.
-This is very mediocre, but I was just tired and I didn't care. I actually planned on only going through 5x, but once I got going I felt better.

Monday 3/15/10
8x(25 squats, 15 push ups, 10 sit ups)

wednesday 3/17/10
joint mobility
windmills 3/3 w/24kg kb
C&P Ladder 3x(1,2,3) w/24kg
Goblet squat 3x15 w/24kg
Swings 4x25 w/24kg
-I've been reading some of Jdin and odin's stuff on there logs about what constitutes being strong enough and fit enough. Also Gary Johns take on simplifying Percy Cerruty's stuff. I'm torn between the desire to buy another kettlebell and continue with some simple combinations of bells and bodyweight, with some sprinting mixed in, and a desire to spend some money on a gym and use barbells again. I think it may come down to what helps me fend off the boredom I've been feeling lately. Just getting outside for a workout today helped, but on a crappy, rainy day I'm back in my living room. Until I decide I'll just keep winging it.

Thursday 3/18/10
joint mobility, squats, divebombers
6x100 yard "sprints"
-These started out really fucking slow, and built up to almost feeling like a sprint by #4, and tapered off.
-I really haven't done any running in 15 years or more. I want to build very carefully so I don't fuck myself up.

Monday 4/5/10
warm up w/squats, planks, hip bridge, dive bombers, rollover to v-sit, mountain climbers
3x10/10 C&P w/35 lb pussybell
3x20 goblet squats
6x10 110m "sprints"
-I have been working like a dog, and haven't had any exercise in 2 weeks, so I used the light bell.
-The sprints started slow, built to almost fast on 3&4, then tapered.
-No more extended periods of inactivity. That sucked.

Patience with the sprints. They contain powerful mojo and are highly worth pursuing. Your soreness was proof, no?

Soreness was proof, yes. But frustration is not with sprints, it is with general lack of progress, due to lack of direction. I need to find a way to focus my exercise, and turn it into training.
Thanks for reading, Nafod.

Glad someone gets something of use from my log... The boredom factor is a tough one with fixed weight protocols in my (recent) experience. I really admire someone like Jdin who can stick with doing just enough to meet his needs and not mess about with it. Personally I tend to struggle with ADD a little too often - but then again i enjoy trying new stuff out so where's the harm I guess...

Coincidentally, I think looking to improve sprinting ability may be my mid-term solution too. Good trainings here... You got a local athletics club for pointers on form?

Odin, thanks for the comments. No athletic club that I'm aware of. I see a lot of people running around here, but not moving fast. I'm on my own for now.
Hopefully, adding in the sprints will keep the boredom at bay for a while.

-I'll try to run later, but I've got a bunch of shit to do today. I'm feeling run down again this week, I've been back up around 65 hours a week for a month now, on my feet the whole time. This workout left me feeling better than when I started, so I'll take it as a good one.
