12 x 500??? Jeebus this training is gonna test your mental strength/boredom threshold. I do like the effects of the C2 but it's tough on the mind. Good luck with it.

I was thinking the same thing. Although 2:30 pace is breaking in for sure, that's a good bit of volume for the 1st row. Probably didn't seem like much because you are fit, but I would let the body adapt slowly to the new stress.

My 2 cents.

I do like the C2 myself.

Actually the idea of doing lot's of 500s and 1000s, even some 250s, appeals to me way more then sitting down and doing a 10k - that would depress me. I think I'm of a mind that I'm not really worrying about the fact that the race distance is 2k. I'm going to do what feels good and see where it goes. I'll be traveling so much there's going to lot's of cross training on the treadmill - although I've scouted out some machines close to the DC and Boca offices I can get to on multiple day trips.

Sometimes I might run on the treadmill.

warm up

[email protected]:05/24 spm
[email protected]:00/26spm
[email protected]:55/28 spm
[email protected]:50/30 spm

Form was better on the faster pieces since I was sitting taller and not artificially elongating the reach .

11x300

All by pace. Did one 300 @ each pace from 2:30 to 1:35 by 5 sec intervals . Everything up to now was done strpaless but I did the last 3 of these strapped in.

Workout was born out of necessity since I was setting up my home office for tomorrow, so I needed something with lot's of breaks, but I liked it.

5 min warm down walk. Ordered the shoxblox today.

5k
avg - 21spm/2:10

Biz trip next couple days. May get on tomorrow a.m., but hotel has a really nice gym, so may just do a mixed cardio thing - treadmill/bike/elliptical -there.

I feel ya. I've pretty much decided the treadmill walking @ 10 degree incline thing will be my "go to" motel workout.

Hotel gym

treadmill - 20 min -peaked at 3.8 @ 12 incline
elliptical - 15 min - peaked at [email protected]

Planned on doing the bike for 10min but the gym was like Madmax. 25 cardio machines all full with 4-5 people waiting at 5:30 in the morning. I actually had to kill someone to get on the elliptical.

Glad you like it. Enjoy ! (Better than slides, IMHO.) I understand the Shox-Box folks are working on a unit that has a comparable effect on the front end. Should be interesting to see what they come up with.

Thanks Jack. And thanks Cayenne for the shoxbox tip - a front one would only make sense.

hotel gym

treadmill - 27min peaked @ 3.8/12.5inc
elliptical - 12 min peaked @ 10/12

The heat and humidity felt good - haven't sweated lke that in months in the cold basement. Should have 4 straight days of rowing now. Not looking good for getting home from FL tonight.
