Finally starting to get back in gear.... weight is down to 265, feel healthier and now its time to ramp up the strength work and up the volume.

Press SS with 7 chins between every single damn set
45 x 10
95 x 5
135 x 5
155 x 5
175 x 10

DB Seated Shoulder Press
60 x 12
65 x 12
70 x 18

Rear Delt Raises
25 x 3 x 12

DB Bicep Curls
50 x 3 x 10

New goals... to fucking have fun, get stronger and look good doing it. My schedule this week is about to pick up a serious notch because I am only training people parttime and working full time back in my original career. Yes, as an electrician. There are many reasons for this but most of all I am tired of the stress of running my own business as my sole source of income. Ever since I moved to Ohio there has been fucking gym drama. The Gorilla Pit moved 45 miles away and I moved with it, within a month he and the owner of the business decided to part ways leaving me to run my own business because at that time I was supposed to get 40 FB players and a possible job as a strength coach at a local Catholic School.

Well the FB team couldn't come in because the booster club didn't want to spend any extra money to train the kids even though the coaching staff practically begged them, and the strength coach deal at the local Catholic HS fell through because a teacher/coach of a baseball team decided he would volunteer to do it for free instead of paying me what I asked. Its simple economics for the school but they reached out to ME because they wanted a guy to come in who knew what he was doing and for them to all of a sudden change their mind because another teacher volunteered to do it....

I told them that they are making a mistake because that is the problem they had in the first place, sacrificing spending a little extra money to get someone who actually knows what they are doing rather than a fulltime teacher and assistant coach who may not have the time or extra motivation to properly train the kids, but money talks...

So, I decided to leave that area because it was a 45 mile drive one way and didn't make sense for me economically to bust my ass to bring in a few athletes here and there and I didn't have the upfront capital to make my spot look like it was equipped with all the shit I needed to attract them, plus fighting for space with the @fit crew was causing tensions between us because I needed space and when there was an evening class of 15 people doing 55# thrusters, that didn't leave me with much room to train my people.

Most of my clients went with me, but my bills are there. So to be able to run what I do effectively and put the proper effort into it, I sacrifice for the time being and train my people after work, they are all cool with that and most of them train at nights anyway, so its a win/win.

This eases my stress a lot, now I can actually pay my bills on time and still do what I love to do instead of stressing over trying to network my ass off and make it all happen at the drop of a hat. I don't have the money and business sense to be able to get a lot of promotions out there right now and I refuse to pay for a mastermind deal that costs 3000 bucks. Some people may think that is a good choice but when I have student loans, car payments, child support, IRS bills and living expenses to worry about... dumping my checking account into something like that isn't a smart decision on my part.

Sometimes we have to do what's smart and build a business the proper way rather than kill yourself to make bills and take mental energy away from life.

Hot as fuck today in the greater shitty Cleveland area....

100+ heat index, humid and generally a miserable day weather wise. Fuck heat.

Squats
295 x 5
325 x 3
365 x 8

Starting to get some shit going here

DB Lunges
55 x 3 x 10

GHD Raises
40 total reps

Hanging Leg Wipers or something like that
50 total reps

After the deload week I will start incorporating heavy singles in the 3 and 1 week. Yes, I am doing 5/3/1 for PL. I don't have time to worry about my training, fuck with it or think about it too much. My schedule is hectic and this is what I am sticking with for a good while.

I am down to 265 and physically I feel better at this weight, I would like to stay around there.

Good deal. Enjoy life and enjoy doing it. It will all work out in the end.

That is the plan... I'm training to have fun and I'll let the chips fall where they may.

I'll probably compete in PL again, don't care if I win or lose, just to have a good time and hang out.

Well hell I would too if my deadlift was a world record bench press in a lower weight class.

these days are bound to happen... everything went wrong at the gym

long day of work, been up since 3AM, had AM clients at 5:30, work at 7, done at 3:30, home to shower and relax for a few minutes then PM clients and then my workout. The day finally ended at 7:30PM.

We were doing a kitchen remodel and service change today in a house with some old ass wiring and a lot of stupid fucking issues.

I was drained and the workout went shitty, everything felt heavy, couldn't find my chalk and I wrapped it up after a couple sets to go home and eat. No need to push through a bad one.

DL
385 x 5
435 x 3
485 x 5

Grip went because I didn't have chalk. Hard to hold onto an older bar with smoothed out knurling with no fucking chalk

Reverse Hypers
200 x 4 x 12

That's all...

fuck it, went home and ate like a champ

Kept with the same weights as last cycle to push myself along the progress groove a bit more before I ramp it up a notch or two. Smart move I feel as I am starting to get my mojo back a little bit so I don't want to rush things along and stall too early.

325 x 10

Had more, stopped at 10.

GHD Raises
3 x 12

DB Lunges with 70#

Decline situps
3 x 15

Seeking advice from a local elite level PL on manipulating my programming to compete again.

5/3/1 is getting my mojo back, a couple more months of getting my work capacity and shit back and I will be ready to take it up a few notches.
