Feeling pretty beat from the DLs last night, might be fighting off a light bug thanks to the wife. Lost my HR monitor unfortunately, so I'll need to get that replaced asap.

Some HR work on the elliptical tomorrow and then it's a backoff week. Although I'd like to change up this workout a bit, hard to argue with progress, so I'll stick to the same bit next cycle. Probably change out to BP ladders and maybe try to get back to some back squats. I'd like to know how the knee will hold up.

I've got a 90' shiatsu scheduled for tomorrow, perfect way to kickoff the back off week.

The HR thing is working out well, already seeing improvements. Need to keep the resistance and the pace higher than normal to stay in range, pretty cool.

As a side, boy wonder has his last season tournament this saturday, then he's all mine for a month. I need to feed him, lift a little, feed some more, sleep, feed some more. He should drift to 125 on his own once the two hour practices stop, I'd like to get him to 130 and then see where we end up by pre-season. Told him no cutting at all post-season, you wrestle wherever you weigh in that day. It's pretty damn rewarding watching him go from a fluffy uncoordinated little kid, to a hard nosed wrestler.

Is there a certain reason you are doing GM's? Are you not able to squat? I know Pavel says the GM is a good replacement if you can't squat.

Hey Mick, I injured my LCL and was not able to squat for a bit. I can probably do so now, but haven't since I've been progressing nicely as is. After this cycle, I'll likely swap out the GM for some SQ ladders ala Shaf.

Week has been a bit derailed to say the least. THe boy caught the stomach bug and was out of it for a couple days and I was feeling very lethargic and had little appetite. Things seem to be geting back to normal, so a couple of easy workouts follow:

SQ were easier than expected, definite loss of speed on the last few sets, but no weakness in the knee and no discomfort afterwards. SQ are back in the loop, likely do ladders and just keep adding 10# until it stops working. I'm going to keep DB Floor presses in for a cycle and since I might have a third day to lift, 2 sets per workout is fine.

Hard workout, felt beat to shit afterwards. Disappointed at missing hte final rep on both teh BPO and DL, but can't say I'm terribly surprised. Reps were slow, by the time the last rep came up, I knew there was nothing left. I had played with staying at last cycle numbers or even dropping below that due to the last couple of weeks, but said fuck it. Worst case scenario I can adjust on the fly next week or just stick with this for a couple cycles.

I've fallen into a very loose schedule, but there is some overall method to the madness. I've got two firm lifting days, but they float depending on schedule. One or two HR days on the elliptical and then whatever time I get on the mat in the garage for drills, stretching and roller work.

This might not be them most scientific or efficient schedule, but I've always got something productive to do, is light pressure mentally and so far is paying dividends all around.
