Fun fucking month, NOT!

A few weeks back I came down with a bad flu and strep throat at the same time.

Long story short after fighting it for a few days I went to the emergency room.

When I swallowed the horse pill it felt as it got stuck in my throat. They did an x-ray and said " Goood news is the pill went down. Bad news is what you feel is a swollen epigloutis (spell?) and that can kill you so your being admitted.

FUN!

So 4 days of beeing stuck in a bed, not even allowed to walk around for 2. IVs of anti biotics and other fun.

So I get out and they give me a high power anti biotic that over the coarse of 3 days fucked my GI tract all up. Jawa Doc seemed unconcerned, told me to eat some Yogurt.

Well on the 4th day I said fuck this shit and took the last pill at 8pm on Sunday.
I still felt like I had been shot on Tuesday around 5am and I mean shot, even wimpered and screamed a few times.

Well I got a better pill last Thursday and have slowly been recovering from all the stress to my body since. First class I taught, by direction not example whiped me that I had to sleep after it.

I know that if I had not let myself get out of shape over the last few months this shit would not have fucked me over so bad. Shit my knee is jacked to verying degrees day to day ever since grappling and using stupid rubber guard last month. (That shit is OUT.)

So Hernia and knee be fucking damned, doing MA drills and teaching along with some wood spliting is not enough. Time to train. Time to use my knowlegde and exp. as a trainer on myself. Time to not bemoan what I can no longer do and feeling sorry for myself. Fuck me! Tough shit! Use the wepaons you have not the ones you want and get the killing done.

Time to stop being a cunt. Work around the problem and slowly do what I can about the problem.

So todays first unimpressive workout.

Stairmaster on level 6 ( 1-20) for 5 minutes to warm up.
Sun salutations for 5 minutes.

Snatch- Press 5/5 w/ 36# KB, Power Pose and 3 pull ups x 2 sets.
One Leg CO DL 5/5 w/36#KB, power pose and 3 sinmgle pull ups x 1 set.
Alt Santch-press 5 L/R w/ 36#KB, Power pose and 3 single pull ups x 1 set.
Kung Fu Punches from front stance w/ Freemotion machine and Satnding Rows in front stance on FM machine x 2 sets.

Supine Bridge for 1 minute x 2 sets. (puts the guts back away from the nuts.)

10 minutes on Cybex at 5 intensaty (1-10).

15 minutes Yoga stretches.

Done.

Friday:AM: I leg DLs and free squats with a client.

PM: 1 Hour Stick, Knife and empty hand work from Pekiti Tarsia with Iron Dog in the park as it was to damn nice outside to be inside.

I also did 20 minutes of Yoga with a client around 2pm.

On the cool shit front.
I have a client who complains about hip flexer pain when we do leg lifts and sprawling type planks so I fgured I would show her negative Janda's.
What was cool is I thought that I would only be able to demo a couple before my nuts gut crushed by my guts but they felt fucking great so they are back on the menu for my workouts.

Off to eat diner, play with the little's and watch a doc on Dark Age Brittan on PBS with my oldest.

Active Recovery / Abs / Cardio workout


5 minutes fast walk at incline on tread mill

5 minutes stretch

Got my hands on my Buddy's Gym Boss today

A- I did a 15/15 Workout, I started with Push up position Planks and Asst. Chin ups on the Gravatron set to take 80#s away from my 192# but the plankls were too easy so I would add 1-3 strict, slow tempo push ups about half way through the 11 minutes I did the 15/15.

B- I did Janda Sit up Negatives 2, 3, 3,2, 1.

C- I set the Gym Boss for 2 different interval counts 15 sec. for Squat Thrust and 19 seconds for originally Pekit Tarsia and Silat foot work but my knee was giving me faint warnings so I did all knids of various MA skills, footwork, Blocks and strikes from Horse stance, Hip opening drills and some burst of shadow fighting.
I did 10 minutes of non stop activity.

D- 20 minutes of Yoga, really stretched the legs, hips and back.

Off to steam, shower and eat.

Friday 4:30- 5:45pm FMA training.

Crom and I took 15 minutes to warm up.

We started with footwork drills working on adapting the triangle footwork and sidestepping from changing angles.

We worked the mechanics of setting up for what Wink calls the Take off, it alows you to burst power into a strike, knee/ kick or throw or to use to sprint out of their range after sidesteping their assult.

Nexrt we worked responses aginst the 12 ways of attack drill, isolating each attack and then counterattacking useing a hig/low, low/high triangle strike patteren.
It was a good way to work multiple skills and attributes from footwork, tapping and passing, strikes and targeting.

Sat- Taught Class. Not a workout for me.

Sunday- Moved a bunch of furniture around and out of a 3 level townhouse, loading shit in the truck, yadda yaddah. Decent workout.

Monday

Plans to finish yesterday's job fell through so being that I was planing on letting the work be my workout I went to the gym after a nice nap.

Crom and I spent 45 minutes working FMA skills.
Then..

Circuit
Alt. Snatch/Press ladders 36, 44 and 53#KB x 1,2,3,1,2,1. L&R

Bosu Asimov squats Slow tempo with a hold on bottom 3 sets by feel.

FM Kung Fu punches 45, 50, 60#s x 10.

Pull ups 3 sets, kinda weak on these today.

1 set of Ground and Pounds 2-53s x 5, I wanted to keep workout under 30 minutes so I ended ther.

Stretch out 10 minutes.

Kinda weak after yesterday but better a weak workout than no workout.

Lot's of eyecandy on the Gym floor tonight so I'll get some cardio tonight by grudgefucking the Ol' lady.

Gonna do some Yoga tomorrow in the late AM then I have 2 classes to teach, lots of stances, punches and kicks in the Kidz Class so that will be my cardio.

Tuesday 6-6:55pm Kidz MA Class

Lot's of punching, blocking and whatnot from Horsestances and basic footwork that I made a game out of for the kids.

Weds 2-2-11

11:35- 12 noon. Almost forgot I did 25 minutes of FMA drills (Whateak drills, Flowing and Broken 6 drills in the air and on BOB with sticks and empty hand and worked the new footwork drill Crom showed me.

I did alot of demoing Yoga and MA stuff for a client from2-3pm

4:10- 5:10 PM Workout

Sticks on BOB.

Circuit
1 Leg CO DL w/53#KB
Power push ups, 1 band
90 degree Rows w/ Jungle Gym
Stick work, free and on Bob
20 minutes

Shadow fighting 10 minutes

20 minutes of Yoga.

2 Black belts, a brown belt and a yellow who has been around showed up to class so we did controlled attack drills, round robin so I this was my workout.

Saturday

Same as Thursday.


Sunday

12:10-12:45

Stick work on Bob then go out and do some pull ups, then back to the room to do knife work on Bob, go out and do more pull ups. Come back and work empty hands and then more Pull ups.

Next shadow fought with double sticks.

12:45- 1:10 Yoga.

A- Power push ups (2 reds), Lunge in place sequence (L&R Forward, L&R Back wards = 1 rep) and Pull ups x 3 runs.

B- Russian Military Press (53#KB) and Asst. Hammer grip Pull ups (-50#s) x 3 sets.

In the Group X Room

C Cardio Circuit: Squat Thrust, Flowing 6 with sticks and 60 degree rows with the Jungle Gym for 15 minutes

D Yoga 15 minutes.

Alissa and the Dance instructor were doing floor routines in the GX room, very good inspiration to keep up the pace with the cardio circuit.
