Gotta say I didn't think this book was all that. What I thought was interesting is that the book is marketed as a "body transformation" book but the articles about training are 90% about powerlifting and show absolute giant guys.
I get that he's saying use the best for each goal - build muscle with PL, cut fat w/ cardio, diet with either Parillo or Ori. Didn't resonate with me. I don't think he's as good a writer as he's cracked up to be.

I didn't actually read the diet and cardio stuff as it looked like waffly crap.
But the powerlifting stuff was interesting from a historical perspective, pity he didn't state that most of his heros
in powerlifting were juiced to the gills

Yep, Marty always manages to skate around the juice topic. He sure loves to rip on and trash powerlifting support gear (you know, stuff that IS legal in competition) but when it comes to the fact practically every lifter he profiles is on the sauce, no mention. Guess it's not considered cheating then?
All in all I liked the PL section on PP, cool to see how those guys trained and some of the stories were just awesome, particularly the Mark Challait stories. Lost interest in the diet section - cardio info was basic but again not very interesting for me. Overall happy to have the book as part of my collection.

I thought some of anecdotes were entertaining. The zazen, diet, and third way cardio stuff was goofy. I don't hate the book overall, but it's mostly just a mishmash. Gallagher's neologisms ("SmartBomb!") are irritating, and wrt this attempt to be a sort of meat head Tom Friedman, he didn't impress me.

According to scuttlebutt, Marty never met a roid he didn't like.

I didn't think the book was very good. In fact, I thought it was mostly a lot of jumbled-up babble and a strained attempt at trying to create a modern TKP that fell extremely short.
