Brüno

More scripted than Borat, more obvious, more shocking, more gratuitous, more cock. I am surprised they dodged an NC-17 rating.
From Israel-Palestinian relations to MMA, Brüno shows us our basic stupidity and that a dick is the most dangerous and subversive thing to show on a movie screen (for the audience I was in at least).
People walked out of the theater during the film. Others bitched and moaned afterward.
Great moments, hilarious. The more scripted bits are little slow and tedious, but the film is more than worth the price of admission if just for the adopted African child bit.
Waaayy better than Hangover.
EDIT: Oh yeah, turn out was much sparser than I thought it would be considering the success of Borat.

First show was sold out, had to see the last one, which had lines forming 30 minutes early.
Funny, I laughed, but I'll never watch it again. Made Borat scene with balls in his mouth look tame by comparison. Too many penises, too much shock value. I see why Norman liked it.
Nowhere near as funny as The Hangover. Not nearly as much laughter in the audience.

Here, even with a shitload of turks/arabs in the cinema, the audience was roaring almost thorughout the whole film...

Can't remember where you are. Are you in a German speaking country? That is only place I know where Turks live anymore.

I saw Borat, not interested in catching the Bravo Channel version. Has HBO-if-ever written all over it. Judging from the press he did in-character, he's just not funny.
Glad you took some life lessons from it though, Ebert.

Yeah, Germany actually.
Bunch of turks and arabs here... more turks though.
Which is okay. I'm fluent in turkish and have lived there a couple fo years, so it's not so estranging to me really...
Some of the "german" they're talking in the movie is compelte gibberish though... sounds funnier though.

Thought you lived over there. I am fluent in German as well as a bit of Austrian Umgangssprache and Salzburger dialect.
The German in the movie does add a bit to the comedy. I wondered what the reaction would be in the German-speaking-countries.

Almost everybody thought it was funny. I live in a big citty though, so mentality will likely differ when going to a cinema in some ass-backwards bavarian village or such.

I laughed a bit, but overall was disappointed. Wouldn't recommend seeing it even on DVD.

I saw it, but I didn't pay for it, cuz I don't support that kind of trash.
