Based on a true story about some American kids who thought it would be cool to learn how to fly the "new fangled airplanes". So they volunteered to fly for the French to fight the Germans before the US entered WWI. Some kick-ass aerobatic dog fighting with those little Sopwith bi-wings vs the German Fokker tri-wings.

I've watched it 4 times already. Would give anything to have one of those original Sopwiths. Excellent movie.

Terrible movie. Fascinating historical subject, but horrible treatment.

Secretly stored in a loft in England since WWI, this 1917 Sopwith Camel #B6291 was discovered by a former Royal Flying Corps Camel pilot with the cooperation of Sir Thomas Sopwith. Carefully restored to flying status by British Aerospace Co., at last it is here now in the U.S.sales listing area suggests (via recent valuations of the aircraft) a price of somewhere between USD $1,800,000 and $2,600,000.

I really want to have this airplane. Do you think I should buy it?

Buy it. And then you could dress up like Snoopy the Dog and fly around shouting, "curse you, Red Baron."

Life couldn't get any better than that. Especially with the long white silk scarf trailing in the wind.
