Actually, it's a good movie, and a lot of fun. My thirteen year old read the book and loved it.
Percy is out of place in high school in NYC, but learns that he is the son of Poseidon, and is in danger because Zeus thinks the kid has stolen his Lightning Bolt. Accompanied by his protector, a "crippled" kid who is actually a satyr, and Athena's daughter, he goes on a quest to rescue his mother from Hades and find the real thief. Encounters Medusa (Uma Thurman), a hydra, and Persophone (a very hot and bothered Eva Mendes). Fun to see with the kids.

The entire series of books is fun. The movie was pretty so-so (and I'm not a picky movie watcher)

oh and Persephone was Rosario Dawson...

My 11 year old devoured the whole book series and we went and saw this last weekend. It was tons of fun and I thought it was a decent movie.
