Rehband old (blue) knee sleeves

They've been mentioned here before but I thought I'd throw something up new. I've had a pair of the Tommy Kono's for a couple of years and have used them sporadically. I've never really had any knee problems other than a ding here and there back when I was heavy into the bjj thing. Anyway as I've tried to ramp up some running while still lifting, I did develop a little trouble so I started wearing the Kono's regularly while dialing back the running. There's nothing wrong with the Kono's other than being a real bitch to get on. Yeah you can use talc, put them on upside down then reverse them when you get them where you want but it's still a bitch. On impulse I ordered a pair of the old version from Jackalsgym.com and they arrived promptly. Very well made. My understanding is that Jackal's is the only place you can still get the old ones. They are 7mm thick compared to 5mm for the Kono's. Very easy to get on and they look like they will last forever. The Kono's are "hotter" since they are straight noprene against your skin. They were pricy...33.00 a piece, 77.00 to the door.

The Rehband rule. I think the Konos are too small for most adult men.

Dang. I have no issues getting my Konos on, and I'm minimum-man-sized (200#). I don't have huge calves, not terribly small either, maybe that's the big issue there.

The biggest Konos are super tight on my knees.
Jesse Marunde once remarked that the Kono's contributed significantly to dehydration due to their tightness and heat.
The Kono back belt is a very nice way to keep the core very warm, but you'll be essentially drenched in sweat from the waist down.

Shaf, I'm kind of a gear whore on some of this stuff so I work hard to keep it in check but that being said, do you have any opinion on the Rehband strongman waist belt/compression sleeve combo? I don't train with the belt hardly at all. I've got a lever belt that quite frankly is a pain in the ass for me. I wouldn't mind using one when working on singles and doubles trying to break through some barriers.
This is the one I'm talking about:

My buddy BobW (here and on the pibbs) likes his.
It's not like a belt, but it does give you support and warmth.

The difference being that you likely don't shave your legs and therefor they slide over the hair easily enough.. whereas shapebaby... well, smooooove.

That may be true, I wouldn't know. I find the "put them on in reverse and flip over" trick to work just fine. I love the Konos.

The Old Blue Rehband knee sleeves rock. I've had mine for a while now and they have held up great.
The Kono back-bracer, as Shaf mentioned, will warm you up righteously. You will be sweating pronto. I like it to warm up when it's freezing in my garage.
