Empire of the Summer Moon by S. C. Gwynne. This is a history of the clash between the Comanche Indians and the White Man, fought on the southern plains of the US, mostly in northern Texas.
Incredible storytelling & writing. The Comanche were the prototypical Horse Warriors, a brutal and beautiful band of nomadic badasses.

Really good book. It was an eye opener for sure. The commanche were some bad motherfuckers fo' sho'.
