Went and saw it on Saturday night with the wife, and of course it won a ton of awards on Sunday. I tricked my wife into going. She was asking,
"This isn't one of those weird movies you take me to, is it? Is it a silent movie?"
"Nooooo, it's ABOUT silent movies. I'm sure they talk in it."
Luckily the on-line preview had some noise, so she went along with it. Once again my evil plan succeeded.
It is a silent movie with almost no talking whatsoever, which made for an odd viewing experience in the theatre. It is a quiet movie, even with the music playing all the time. So quiet that I was ready to pound this one woman behind us who kept chuckingly to her self. I would have too, if it were not for the fact that I kept digging into my bag of popcorn, and in the quiet theatre it sounded like a swarm of feeding locusts each time I grabbed a handful. Not to mention slurping my soda.
It is also an incredible film. It is beautiful to watch with amazing cinematography , the acting is amazing throughout, the story is great. A deserved winner. No explosions, though.
