Mel Gibson and I were chatting about this very subject on the phone the other day. I was lamenting the possibility of another Clinton in the Oval Office, and how this was fueling my already cynical outlook on the state of our Representative Democracy and the special money interests that hold so much sway over the system. Mel said that he hopes she gets raped by a pack of niggers. That Mel...what a card.

I'd vote for Bill to come back if he kept the crazy hair and goofy beard
Re: Hillary for Prez?
This is the real reason she won't win. It's one thing for people to see an ugly old man in a position of power, but a candidate who looks like the meanest old schoolmarm in town has almost no chance.Hanglow Joe wrote:How ail the union guys vote for her with their dignity, She reminds them of their ex wife.

Re: Hillary for Prez?
However, the GOP won't be able to stop her.
They will roll out the same cast of clowns they have done in the past two general elections who do their best to prove to primary voters that they love Jesus and hate science more than the person on either side of them. Unless Elizabeth Warren jumps in, Clinton won't need to spend anything until July and if she unleashes Bill on the campaign trail, she will have plenty of cash on hand.
Seriously, does anybody think there is anybody interested in running outside of Jeb Bush who could defeat her? If Bush does get it, the entire "we don't want another Clinton in the White House" like loses a bit because the last Clinton performed far better than the last Bush.
The only thing that can beat her are the many women who will come out and attack the hell out of any woman running for office and blacks, who won't turn out in near the numbers they did in the previous two elections.

Re: Hillary for Prez?
If she gets to the general election, I'd be shocked if she didn't win. In 2008 people voted for an affable, unknown black bonehead because he was black. True believers voted as they always do, but the race is always close after the true believer factions vote as they always do. Black people turned out to vote for a black guy, and white people with white guilt voted for him to show how un-racist they are. That's more than enough to turn the tide in the modern turd sandwich vs. giant douche era of American politics. Voters are pulling the lever with one hand and holding their nose with the other.
So a presentable black nitwit, devoid of qualifications and free of the burdens of ideas, hit the politics Powerball lottery, and became Jimmy Carter faster than Jimmy Carter became Jimmy Carter.
So I'd be shocked if women turning out or changing their usual vote to vote for a woman didn't decide the race, if she makes it to the general election. I can't see anyone coming out of the woodwork now and beating her in the primaries. The Clintons are maybe the most skilled insiders ever seen, they have a lot of markers to call in, and people know they know how to play ball: they know their supporters will be rewarded and those that don't show up will be punished. That will get her the support needed to win the primaries.
The wild card is, knowing this is their last hurrah, who can say what the fuck the Clintons might do on the way out? It just about took SEAL Team 6 to get them out of the White House the first time. If I didn't care about the future (and I almost, almost don't) I'd look forward to watching the shit show that will unfold in her last year in office.
It's a crying shame that American politics is reducing to dynasties, power handed down in parties rather than royal families. I remember back around 1999 reading an interview with, of all people, a Vietnamese woman who had been involved in the revolution in the 60s, then a high level apparatchik in the 70s and 80s. She was disappointed and disillusioned because, in her words, "the revolution did not turn out as we had intended." At the time I was reading it, here in the US, two boobs were in a very close race for the US presidency, the son of a senator vs. the son of a recent president. I wished I could tell her, "Don't feel bad, neither did ours."

Hillary's appearance will hurt her with women almost as much as with men.

to label obama a black nitwit is simplemindedness masquerading as insight. our political dialogue is as pointless as our politicians.

Re: Hillary for Prez?
I would think crow's election analysis may be just a tad simplistic. I agree that Obama got the black vote just because, but for white folk, I doubt it had to do with "guilt" and more to do with an old, white, rich dude on the other side - plus just plain hate for the tea-party base.
In my opinion, if the Republican's put out a hellfire way-right tea partier, and God forbid they're wealthy, then Hillary is a shoe in. OTOH, I think a reasonable, young, non-entrenched candidate could easily beat the crap out of her. I am definitely looking for a good candidate as I will not vote for Hillary.
Plus, I have met very few women that would vote for a woman just to vote for a woman. In fact, they tend to be more critical than men.

Re: Hillary for Prez?
Now the email bs she's lying through her poorly capped buck teeth. But it doesn't matter what she says or does she'll still get the votes. She ain't no slick Willy handling a press conference and tough questions but it doesn't matter. Even if she ditches the pant suits and gets her thunder thighs into minny skirts.

Agreed, he was just being IGx snarky/funny, but it's hard to argue that The Obama's flashes of brilliance have been brighter or more frequent than GB the Second. No? I mean, I don't watch Fox News and still don't think much of The One, and I have tried.dead man walking wrote:to label obama a black nitwit is simplemindedness masquerading as insight. our political dialogue is as pointless as our politicians.
Re: Hillary for Prez?
I think he's done less harm than GB, but that's a pretty low bar to set. The invasion of Iraq was super massive black hole level of stupidity.
According to Fox News, ISIS is at home raping our grandmothers as I type. I want a candidate that will nuke Burma in response.

No. GWB incompetence was particularly special. From the economy to Iraq to Al Queda. The Venerable Bogatir X wrote:Agreed, he was just being IGx snarky/funny, but it's hard to argue that The Obama's flashes of brilliance have been brighter or more frequent than GB the Second. No?
One of the downsides of the Internet is that it allows like-minded people to form communities, and sometimes those communities are stupid.
