China: Going to Implode

Today China celebrates the 100th overthrow of the last emperor of China in 1911, as part of the Wuchang Uprising which led to the 1911 Republic. It's basically a happy day for Chinese, and rightfully so, but China has some problems which don't have any easy answers. One is a economic bubble which is the mother of all bubbles:

Another problem is Tibet. The current Dalai Lama will not be around forever, and the next generation will not be so conciliatory. Soon there will be war.

China is also on the verge of a 30+ million person humanitarian crisis on its doorstep:

1. They don't care. Didn't bother them to starve their own people, and they liked them a hell of a lot better than they like Koreans.
2. Border is easy to defend.

Maybe, but maybe not. I don't see the Chinese of today as having much in common with the Chinese of 50 years ago.

Defending the border with a 10/1 Soldier to weapon ratio would go a long way to solving their surplus male population problem.

China is not our problem. Jihadis are the problem.

Their economy implodes and it's a big problem for us, at least in the short to mid run.

Do you really believe that? I don't. Why do you think so?

Have believed China threat was geo-political strawman since reading "Pentagon's New Map".
We need each other economically. Neither one of us can survive a direct conflict in any shape worth living in. We will be rivals but not enemies. Fundamental Islam is the enemy and rival we need to engage, defeat, and kill.

I wasn't suggesting that China was a threat to us, not militarily. If anything they are a threat to themselves, as history amply demonstrates. The only way China will hurt us economically if they go down the shitter.

Again, I totally agree. We need each other.

Radical Islam is the enemy? Not so sure. I tend to think that rampant corporations represent a more dire threat and their control of the media, government, and industry is more dangerous than a pack of filthy tent dwellers.

And what are we doing to prevent new ones from springing up?

That bubble bursting in a few years might have a silver lining or two. Bursting soon = very bad IMO.

Not buying it. Banks are shiteaters, some corporations are scum, but by far the alligator closest to boat is not the goat herder in his tent, it is the goatherder's educated grandson willing to kill any and all infidels with bullet, bomb, dirty nuke, or 767. The way you defeat the Jihadi is to kill him and so limit their ability to wage war they stay in their gap.
China, like Japan a few years ago, will have their down times.

I've had a similar concern for a while. We've violated the sovereignty of who knows how many nations now chasing an enemy that will never fully be caught.
Where does it end? A perpetual state of war isn't sustainable on any level, and I guarantee they will outlast us. Each time we kill one, another gets pissed and motivated to take up the cause.
Not sure what that means in the end other than that it will be difficult to ever "win".
And re: China.
We're all fucked.

The two biggest exporters of radical Islam are Iran and Saudi Arabia. What could it be that has saved them from being invaded and bombed to smithereans? I wonder?
If we were serious about the war on radical islam we'd ignore the hand wringing oikophobia of the Dems and the political/corporate calculations of the Republicans and drive drive the price of oil into the toilet and thereby ruining and backrupting the two largest exporters of radical Islam.
Drill baby drill
Nuke the fuck up
If we need to subsidize anything it's electric energy storage. Fuck wind wills and solar; nuke is the way to go.
Drive them back to the 800's, they prefer that age anyway.

Fires benefit the chief of the Fire Department, who in turn doesn't give a fuck about anybody else. Orwell was right sixty years ago.

Okay, enough with the crusader stuff, let's talk about China. Despite their massive and annoying inferiority complex, I don't want anything bad to happen to China and I believe that if it does, it will suck for us. However, I also think that China is primed for a very hard fall and they won't settle for beer in vending machines and octopus porn like the Jappos.

China is circling the drain and there isn't a damn thing we can do about it , other than set our financial house in order. However we've done the exact opposite when Bara O has stomped hard on the spending gas peddle. What was once a slow drift towards insolvancy has become a race to see if we can beat everyone to the bottom.
The best we can hope for is the chinese adopt a milder forum of national socialism and that we don't adopt a stronger version.

China is an infinitely larger problem than Islamism, whether they implode or hold shit together and push us off the cliff to become chief superpower.

Back in the 1970s, Professor Hoover had us read B. Thomas Trout's "External Pacer Theory." (I think I have the name right) He went on, and Professor Glatfelter agreed (great class), that the Soviet Union was a "Paper Tiger" with enormous issues of battle readiness (no antifreeze in the tanks was one memorable issue...the soldiers figured a way to consume it for a high) and "would soon break down." This is long before it happened, too, which was cool.
Both agreed that the USA would quickly have to invent a new enemy. It's funny because both thought China and BOTH mentioned the 1973 Oil Embargo and noted that we needed to take President Carter's energy policies seriously to keep our distance from relying on foreign oil as our base.
At best, it was 15 minutes, maybe five minutes, but as I have lived through the decades (I was 19), this was as close to prophesy as anything I have ever seen. Amazing. So, I usually don't comment much here save for training, but I just wanted to add this.

First Taiwan, then Japan and its octopus porn. If their economy collapses there will be a war nobody wants.

That is actually really cool. I had a professor of who did most of the Asian history in our department.
He did a lecture series on China, which I gladly sat in on for extra credit, and he also pointed out that China has a massive female population that doesn't "exist". Because of their policies on population control many parents who have the means won't register their girls with the state. At some point they'll need resources, and nobody has any idea how many that could be.
That will be problematic as well.
