Coach sexes student, is angry at getting fired

The University of Texas women's track coach who resigned under fire after the disclosure of an affair with a female student a decade ago doesn't understand why she was targeted for punishment and questions whether she's being treated fairly.
"Is it because I have a disability? Is it because I'm black? Is it because I'm female? Is it because I'm successful? Is it now because of my sexual preference?" Coach Bev Kearney asked on CNN's "Starting Point" Tuesday. "I had to finally come to embrace not knowing why, and I had to embrace it because the more you try to figure out why, the harder it is to forgive."

She's playing a typical loser card that I see a lot in my role as a manager and HR professional..."yeah, I done did wrong and I admits all dat BUT YO ASS AIN'T FIRED ALL DEEZ UDDER FOLKS DAT DID DA SAME DAMN THANG!"
It's the reasoning of a five year old...it's ok that I fucked my life through my poor decisions, and other people taking the fall with me will buffer the impact.

When the story broke, I thought that she shouldn't have been fired. It was nearly ten years ago, consensual, etc, etc, etc. However, from reading here response, it must have felt so good for the university to get rid of her.

Every university I know of highly discourages consensual relations that cross the boundaries (instructor/student or supervisor/employee) and more importantly *require* you to report it to your boss so everyone can make sure there's no favoritism or chance for harassment. She definitely failed on the last one, and exposed the school to a potential million dollar suit.
