I'll bet if someone looked into this they'd find that the lack of prompt quality psychiatric treatment has killed far more people than so-called "assault rifles". I don't expect that it will be seriously investigated though. It makes the system look broken.

There seems to be more to that story. After reading a few lines I thought that Creigh shot
his son in self defense. Further into the story it appears that the son committed suicide with
a firearm, probably a hand gun.

Why didn't the son shoot Creigh instead of stabbing him multiple times?
