Q&A site The Straight Dope (via Reddit) reports that, just as that blue tropical bird mascot hasn’t changed since the cereal’s creation in 1962, neither has Froot Loops’ flavor — that’s flavor, singular. According to Wikipedia, “The cereal pieces are ring-shaped (hence ‘loops’) and come in a variety of bright colors and a blend of fruit flavors (hence ‘froot’),” and not “fruit.

I knew that. I was a big dork and did a blind taste test in high school out of curiosity. I wasn't really ever allowed to eat them, raised by a health food nut, but got my dad to buy me a box for the experiment.

I get my daughter a couple boxes of Froot Loops with Marshmallows for Christmas and her birthday. She treasures them.
If you want a sugar buzz, it's one way to get there.

It is news to me that Froot Loops is even spelled like that.
Far less newsworthy is that they are feeding you a manufactured flavor.
