Leaving for basic in 11 days

As some of you know, I joined the Air National Guard. As the title says, I'm leaving in 11 days. Sad about leaving the wife and pups but excited and proud to get this underway.
Anyhow, I will be in Atlanta visiting some family from 11/26-11/29 if any of you in Atlanta want to grab a beer. Other than that, thanks for all the advice I have received on this issue from the folks here. It's much appreciated.
I should be back on in a limited fashion come February when I hit Biloxi, MS for tech school.
Happy turkey day and Xmas to everyone.

Good luck in the Guard. I work 10-8 most of those days, but I can grab a beer after work any of those days.

Best of luck.
Oh, and I never served so can't offer any advice there, but as a lawyer who used to work on veterans benefits appeals, when you get your entrance exam, don't sign that fucker unless you agree 100%.

I'm in Atlanta today but won't be there when you are or I'd be pleased to have a drink with you.. My youngest boy is in the ANG and likes it fine. Best of luck to you and Mrs. Dunn & pups.

Thanks. I will do all of the following except the Pararescue since I've missed the age cut off by a few years.
Current job is combat communications.

Dunn, in all seriousness, your age, maturity, fitness, and most importantly, your sense of purpose will provide you with the motivation to succeed. Strive to win everything and be the honor graduate in your platoon, series, flight or whatever it is called. This is serious business...having fun and making friends is secondary to winning. And I ain't even bullshitting here.

At the tail end of Chesty Puller's career he was supposed to have said, "What I would give to be the last guy in the last row" while watching a unit marching.
