Only just. I kind of thought it might have been a spoof, but it's on the BBC website and it seems the google spokesman talked directly with a BBC source:

"We're appalled and genuinely sorry that this happened," a spokeswoman told the BBC.

"We are taking immediate action to prevent this type of result from appearing.

"There is still clearly a lot of work to do with automatic image labelling, and we're looking at how we can prevent these types of mistakes from happening in the future."

Not sure how you can apologize for a computer algorithm, but there you have it.

I suspect it's the same impetus that compels Bubba Watson to paint over the General Lee.

It's a good question. You raised the point earlier about the Gays. Something is different and the change is recent. People were either really socially liberal but just afraid to speak out about it or Facebook and Twitter showed them the error of their ways and they are repentant or they are just scared. But I get that things are different. Needless to say, I don't enjoy the present atmosphere.
