Suspected suicide attack. Word from hospitals is that victims are showing up with injuries you see from a nail bomb.

Saw a comment that noted that England joins a growing list of countries with some decisions to make, or ignore.

London's Muslim mayor said terrorist attacks are just "part and parcel of living in a city"

FWIW, the Mayor of London did order a review of "London's terrorist attack response" after he was elected.
NBC has a storyline on the attacks here:

As easy as it is to cause mayhem, especially if you are willing to not live through it, I am almost surprised there isn't more going on.
An Ariana Grande concert? How many teens were at that?

Next step today or tomorrow will be calls for unity and reminders for the locals to be ever more tolerant. Politicians will speak nobly of our courage and how this incident won't affect our way of life. The dead will be remembered forever and will get a memorial plaque. There will be a uniting slogan (Birmingham Strong?). Perhaps there will be a march or two for us to work out our angst publicly.
Immigration stays the same while the security state expands.
And...soon, it will happen all over again. Rinse & repeat.

No idea yet, so I'm going on the record and betting it was a Brit citizen, born there. Parents probably immigrated. The bloke hasn't traveled to the middle east, just got radicalized locally and on the internet.
My guess in advance of the facts.

Outrageous. Suicide bombing at an Ariana Grande concert? The plot's been lost.

There seem to be quite a few children of Muslim immigrants who radicalize.

Two gold stars
The Telegraph
Born in Manchester in 1994, the second youngest of four children his parents were Libyan refugees who came to the UK to escape the Gaddafi regime.

Frankly, I wish I was wrong. Then walls and stuff would work.

It's fucking Manchester not Birmingham. This specific cockstain was born and bred here, so not sure how you'd sort that through immigration curbs.
and don't envisage the kind of marginalised ghetto environment that gets depicted by Fox News et al. Arrests were made in chorlton; affluent middle class bohemian suburb. You got mosques, churches, Hindu temples and about a dozen Buddhist centres round there, you couldn't have a more integrated community.
I have no solution but pretty sure it won't be as simple as moving further to the right or left

You guys can stand around and talk all you want. But I'm going to do something.
I'm gonna put a British flag on my FB cover page.

Yeah! That's the Dunkirk spirit right there. I just wonder how quickly we'd have overcome hitler if we had Facebook back then.

I'd think that the Brexit votes indicates that the UK immigration policy is gonna get much much tighter.

Credit for actually mentioning radical Islam in a way that's not meant to disparage conservatives along with Sam Harris and Bill Maher for pointing out the obvious.
