Why would the Russians use a toxin that aims right at them? "Novichok" was produced in Russia in the 1990s.

The Skripals were nobodies. He was traded off to the British in 2010. Apparently he wasn't important enough to hang on to him. Skripal was arrested in 2004. Most anything he knows would be stale by 2018, when he was allegedly poisoned with Novichok.

A crime requires means, motive and character.

How would it benefit Russia to attempt to bump him off in such an obvious fashion? Terrorize who? The folks back home? They can be handled in a more direct manner. Terrorize defectors? For what purpose?

Could be a faction in the SVR/MGB. One bumped him off, to put pressure on Putin's government for domestic reasons. Could be a faction in British Intelligence, to justify operations in Ukraine. Need to know covers a lot of sins.

Well, it's been covered many times in many places. Starting with the motive and ending with the means and the way it was allegedly done. Why do you need to kill an ex spy who was convicted and exchanged? Why do you choose such elaborate means to do that? Military grade poison capable of killing the whole of the city. And if you do want to do that, do you reckon there is an intelligence agency in the world that cannot do it in the way not traceable to the country of origin?

As is the case with all false flags evidence to the contrary is ignored. The reason for Vietnam War is still "the threat of communism", and the Gulf of Tonkin incident is largely forgotten. The story of the Russian doping, even though completely debunked by the reputable law firm, is still alive. So is the Scribal case: it is at the very least controversial, but is referred to as the clear and solved.

That's obvious reason. Perfect for the false flag operation. They could have killed him during his eight year prison stay in Russia. Easier and not likely to get a mention in the Western media.
