Once you get past this stuff:

1. Long boring opening sequence
2. Bomb proof monster
3. No tits
4. Excessive shaky cam

It's a fun and kinda cool "big monster" movie.

Did Michael Jackson get killed by the monster?

It was a cool flick. I listed the only problems I had with it.

Blah. I think I would have hurled if I saw it on the big screen.

JJA said that he wanted to make an "iconic" monster for the US like Godzilla is for Japan? Good luck. Missed by a mile. It's just this big thing (an infant, or so he says) flailing around.

Somehow it just didn't do anything for me.

Saw it last night, the first 10 minutes were like watching a reality show about people I can't stand and then BAMN!

Hardcore, great flick.

Anyone notice that the monster was not always the same size? I think those things turn into big ones, plus it would explain the fact that the thing was hit with a shit load of ordenance that seemed to hurt it but did not put it down. With the fact that we only got one POV and very little info I think they were battleing a few big ones thast they might have killed one or two along with a shit load the M-4 doable little basterds. (if you can kill it with a fireaxe then a 5.56 carbine with burst mode can do it as well.)

I hope he does a sequal, The mystery of it made this a good flick but I want one where we find out what and where it came from and if leveling Manhattan with conventional bombardment stopped the thing or not.

I don't remember if a sequel was really considered, though I did hear, at one point, that they were going to do the same exact time filmed with another camera from another viewpoint.

The scenes where the military is fighting the monster were awesome to see. Boring characters and cheap camera tricks makes me happy I watched it with Rifftrax.
