Robert Downey Jr. is awesome, snarky, and the dark hero. Good movie.

The previews didn't look all that captivating, but he's a good actor. I'm glad to hear it rocks.

Yeah, I liked it a lot. Downey made it work, and the director and screenwriters knew how to make the character accessible to newbies as well as the fans. The first 40 minutes or so was one of the best character development arcs I've seen in any action movie, let alone a super-hero movie.

I should also note the 11:30 am matinee I attended had 200 guys just like me in attendance.

Cross-dresser convention in town? Movie day for the retard house?

This movie was like having the alarm go off then realizing it's Saturday morning. I knew nothing of the movie or comic, had seen no trailers, and didn't know who was starring. My 8 yr old wanted to go, so I went.

4 Academy Award nominees = best superhero / comic movie I've ever seen.

Downey Jr is impeccable
Paltrow makes it impossible for Dunst to ever ruin another movie

Because she sucks so badly that Dunst looks good by comparison, or because she's so awesome that in the future, any role for Dunst will go to Paltrow instead?

Stop your ambiguous.

Yes and no.

Kidding. It's the same small part - assistant, romantic tension, "please don't die", etc... but Paltrow makes it believable and smart. I never liked Dunst anyway, but now I know why.

I dislike Dunst because of her huge round head balanced on top of that spindly little body.
She funny looking. OTOH, any cornfield in her vicinity is safe from crows.

Wow, you're nearly animated in your commenting, have you ever posted that many words before? I'm really impressed. And also relieved you liked it since you seem to never really like anything. I go to see it later today.
neat

Liked it. Good Easter Egg after the credits, too.

Very good movie. Very strong comic timing for a non-comedy, but not that surprising given Favreau and Downey being the major players.
Hollywood has forgotten how to tell the perfect story in exactly 90 minutes. And film has truly suffered for it IMO. It was a golden rule for ages, egos are just out of control I guess.
Right, Jack. Blade Runner, Gone With the Wind, The Godfather, E.T., The Good, The Bad and the Ugly, and Star Wars really needed the fluff trimmed down so they could fit into 90 minutes.

Stop your numbnuts. 90 minutes is the bare-minimum for a feature-length movie, and it is favored by the studios because you can fit more showings per screen and up your box office $$$. It's not an artistic thing.

I agree, had they shortened the character development part of the movie it would have really done it an injustice. That's where Downey was at his best IMHO.

90 minutes is often too short, I don't bitch until the 3 hour mark.

I wish they'd colorize the beginning of Wizard of Oz.

Excellent-O movie. Downey is great. Suit is great. Pepper Potts was great. Music rocked. The only detractor was that the BIG BATTLE at the end was standard run of the mill stuff.

I enjoyed it. It set the stage for a good comic hero sequal or two.

Kicked much ass.

Gwyneth Paltrow is disposable and has that "skinny with a big head" thing going on. WTF is up with that?

I was completely surprised. Given the IGx repsonses I eagerly went to the film.

I walked away extremely underwhelmed. Too many reasons this film was lackluster and utterly predictable. Can't believe you people think it tops Spiderman 2.

I never thought that. Spidey 2 was a great movie, this was a good comic book movie.
