It's a decent read.

And it's pretty motivational.

I read it. It was entertaining. I have a friend who is the cali ultra scene a little. He told me everyone was a little annoyed when Dean wrote this book. Apparently most of these guys are low key and here this guy brings all sorts of media attention to it. Next thing you know here come a bunch of attention seeking DBs. Whatever. Interesting read for what its worth. Badwater sounds like torture. In fact the whole scene sounds like torture. I look for extensive discussion of Ultramarathoners in DSM V.

Not read it , but Perc Cerutty (the chap I just mentioned in a thread in this section ) in 1945 ran 100miles after he recovered from near death in his 40s.
Later , he developed a challenge:
-Press (mil. press) your bodyweight
-Swim a mile
-Walk (or run) 100miles

All in 48hrs. He did it too , as an old scrote. I spose he was the Oz Jack Lalanne or something. Way more eccentric though , but coached some world running champs, so give him credit.
