I've been a GTD -> zen to done -> autofocus/tiddlywiki/30boxes guy for about 2 years. For me, they all failed to some extent because here's how I like to operate.

I like putting plans out there galore. I need these immediately for reference
A lot of my personal todo stuff is captured from the web
I absolutely need something that syncs between work, home, and my mobile

I've been using Evernote for several weeks now and I'm thinking it fits the bill. It's simple to collect (great for the web). You can have a mix of GTD and regular tagging. Last week I ponied $45 for the year to allow to attach all kinds of docs (free version allows pix).

Check it out

It appears that this program doesn't have a calendar.

Am I missing something?

No. In GTD and most other systems a calendar is a separate piece used only for appointments. I use 30 boxes for that as well as a tickler.

That seems unbelievably complex,, but if it works for you.. great. I just have a Moleskine for my daily training log,, and a large calender from the dollar store to plan ahead.. I use Moleskines for my training ideas and writing ideas/notes.. It's very relaxing to jot stuff down,, doodle and create in that fashion.
I do like your input,,your analysis is always concise.

What do you see as complex. If anything I feel I've refined my ways down to minimalist - thus my rave reviews for Evernote.
