I just got back from the Bahamas. I bought one of these hats because my cotton hats just get too hot and heavy.

Image

Pros:
-lightweight
-broad brim
-strap
-dries quickly
-floats
-will protect head from a light to moderate, short duration, rainfall.

Cons:
-brim gets blown up in windy conditions
-brim can get creased if folded

This had worked very well except in very windy conditions. It kept the sun off my head and was significantly cooler than previous hats I've worn (cotton boonie hats, Columbia brand cotton boonie/sun hat). I wore it to Disney's Animal Kingdom during the worst storms Florida has had this year, and it kept my head dry. In the Bahamas, I wore it pretty much everywhere outside except for swimming, and the only time it didn't protect my head and neck adequately was when the wind blew the brim up.

If you need head/face/neck protection that is lightweight, dries quickly, and cool, this hat does the trick very well.

4.5 stars out of 5.

Can you get it without the logo? I don't do logos.

Nope. To be honest, I didn't like the logo either, but the thing works so well I don't give a fuck anymore.

This is the desert/fishing/hiking cap I prefer. The insect repellent stuff really does work. A little.

$25. Mine has a small discreet logo.

Yeah, that's a fine cap as well.
