Brother in law gave me the trilogy at Christmas, complete with "If you like the Game of Thrones books, you'll love...."
I couldn't get thru the second or third chapter. It reads like a college sophomore wrote it. Should I seriously give this another try? The bro-in-law is a super good dude, I'd like not to shit all over his gift. But, first impression, anyone who thinks this is written even 1/3 as well as the Martin books, is high.

I could not read Martin to the end :) surrendered on second book.

i read it in English, so may be i just can't notice it, because my English level not too high...
But i am reading already secnd book :)

So. I almost ended 3rd book.
What i can say... It is much MUCH! better than G.Martin's books :) Its true.
TV-show Game of thrones is great, but books.... boring as hell. I strongly recommend First law :)
