I'm not into sci fi. What is a good series to get a kid who's into the Michael Vey series?

Enders Game perhaps? What other series has he already read? How old is he?

Early teens. I'd be all about getting him the classic stuff, but I think he's more into the modern stuff. Not sure what else he's read yet.

Early teens are a tough age to pin down for reading selections... My son loves Michael Vey though.
He also liked the Percy Jackson series.
We read the first Maze Runner book - he liked that too.
We're on the second book of The Eighth Day series - like it.
The Hunger Games books weren't bad - I liked them, but my son didn't care that much for the first one though.
Older stuff, but the Xanth series but Piers Anthony is classic.
When I was a teen (and a D&D nerd), I really liked the Guardians of the Flame series - first book is The Sleeping Dragon by Joel Rosenberg

Try some of Neil Gaiman's stuff. Neverwhere is a good start.

Start him on Heinlein's Starship Troopers, and if he likes it, move him up to other Heinlein classics.

When my son was an early teen, he read Enders Game, Game of Thrones, Eragon series, Hunger Games, Divergent series, he also read Lord of the Rings in 7th grade, so don't discount the classics.
Also, both my son and I really liked Elizabeth Moons Vatta wars series.
