Mystery? Drama? Horror?
Weird stuff is afoot in the Norwegian (and English somehow) town of Fortitude on the Arctic circle. Polar bears are lurking about and a mammoth carcass feels like trouble.
Dark, cold, hard to figure out. Stanley Tucci does his usual engaging work as an FBI agent.
Well acted by all but found some new actresses that have grabbed my attention. Sofie Gråbøl & Jessica Raine in particular.
I'm in for the duration of season 1 at least.
Pairs well with cheddar cheese and Bushmills or Buffalo Trace.

Dr. DownLow I'm using Buffalo Trace in my Old-Fashioned. Very good.

almost halfway thru the first season.
scandanavian mystery and weirdness with a good cast.
my one complaint is difficulty following some of the dialogue because of nordic accents. ultimatley, though, things come clear

Season 2 came out of the gate with a bang. Unexpected turns of events IMO.
Apparently I like desolate environments and almost consider the landscape to be a character. Iceland has become a bucket list destination.

i think landscape is a character in scandanavian detective fiction.
regarding iceland, have you read any crime novels by arnaldur indriðason?
he features an odd, brooding protagonist, with a tragic background wrapped in snow and deep cold. i read a bunch, so i must have liked them.
unfortunately, it is not true that iceland is paying men to immigrate and marry the local ladies.

You can turn on the subtitles. I do that for a lot of shows in English in which the sound is muffled or difficult for one reason or another.
