Birra Moretti: Gav's everday brew

There's a suprising amount of imports available in my area. Jungle Jim's International Market boasts:
• More than 800 international beers and micro-brews
• More than 400 U.S. microbrews from 66 producers
• All the popular national brands
• Seasonal micro-brews, collector beers
• Rare monastery brews
• Non-alcoholic beers from around the world

My local liquor store has a great import cooler, too. After reading Gav's comments at tempbad, I thought I would pick up some Moretti next time I got to either of those fine merchants. I was pleasantly suprised when I found it at Krogers.

i found it slightly malty sweet, with an aftertaste like Stella Artois, or Urequell. The sweetness made it a fine companion for some fajitas I had cooked up. I rubbed the steak with chili powder, cumin, and ground mustard seed, added onions, peppers, and mushrooms and dumped the first Moretti over the mess and let it sit about four hours.

I thought that the Moretti might be a little too sweet for sipping but I am drinking the last one now, and it goes quite well w/ an Iguana maduro.

Good one Beef. I have my parents over at the moment, you wouldn't believe how many empty Moretti bottles there are on my balcony.
