As of March 2021, there were over 18,000 children held in detention centers, over 7,000 more than the previous high in May of 2019. Fewer families now, but that's likely because we're kicking out nearly everyone we catch unless they're an unaccompanied minor. Chart:

These conditions are at least as bad as anything seen under DJT, yet there are no crying photo ops, we have a VP who laughs her way out of answering questions from reporters, and the flow is unlikely to slow any time soon.
