The Godfather has been on my ‘to read’ list forever but I never get around to it. The audiobook version is an 18 hour performance by Joe Mantegna that I had a hard time not listening to straight through. Very highly recommended.

If he's a lot better voice actor than he is in front of the camera I'll give it a shot. That does happen. Mark Hamill is okay on the screen, but he's amazing in voice. Mantenga

does
all these
pauses
trying to do as much
acting
as . . . possible.

The book is different than The Godfather 1 and 2 films. In some ways better but not in all ways. If you’re a big fan of the movies Puzo’s original vision is worth exploring on its own merits whether you read or listen.

I read the book recently, and am amazed that the movie is what it is. The book is kind of trashy in ways the movie isn't at all. Both were good.
