Covid news

You have somewhat idealized ideas. Vaccinated people still get sick and still die. They transmit the virus as successfully as the unvaccinated. Vaccination definitely reduces the chance of severe illness and death at the individual level. So if you are vaccinated you are protected. My friend's mothe...

I had the Pfizer boost and never noticed. I had an illness in December of 2019. My doctor has thirty five years experience, said it was Covid. I did not loose smell. Out of curiosity, did your doctor say what his basis for the diagnosis was? No disrespect to him, but symptoms of covid are by and la...

Depends on the goals. If you don't mind drawdowns and are in this for the long term then it doesn't matter, and today is as good as any other time. Put some amount in every month, and over the next 20 years you will most likely be fine. There are some caveats though. It has been said many times that...

S&P took out the last lows, seems to have found some support for now. If it breaks down can easily go below 4000.

It looks like it is at least losing steam. S&P and Nasdaq are right on the support lines. Of all world markets only China and UK are looking ok. China has been drifting down for a year, and UK hasn't recovered to the pre-covid collapse, so neither of them have been terribly overpriced. I am curi...

No fuckin' thank you to sending US troops to Ukraine

You Russbois would understand the US much better if you understood that the "average American" and the people who set American foreign policy are not the same group of people. The former has no understanding of global complexities but, no matter, neither do they have any power. The latter...

Starting BJJ at 62 y.o.

I am 59 and started BJJ about 3 years ago. I have no talent for it, my endurance is shit, and I am pretty useless on the mat. However, it is a great martial art. I think it is not a bad choice as a new sport for the old fucks. One of the most important aspects for me is less chance of injury. You ch...

No fuckin' thank you to sending US troops to Ukraine

Perhaps this fool is beginning to realize that the Americans are simply using him. These kind of remarks are most entertaining for me. Obviously, the average newspaper reader of TV news spectator understands the intricacies of international politics better and in advance of high level politician. S...

And seriously, on half Ukrainian teritory Russian army will be met like liberators. But again, invasion is ridiculous. The reason for invading the Cr...

Six rules of life by Labkovsky

From the article: When people in Russia hear the advice ‘Do only what you want to do’, they think it’s a call for anarchy. They consider their biggest, wildest desires absolutely low, perverse and harmful for those around them. In their mind these people are certain that they are savages and are too...

I think it is more beneficial for both Russian and NATO to keep things as they are, making all kinds of statements and threats and playing with the tension. No real involvement, but a lot of potential for scoring political points.

Shoutouts to the Russian folks here, but you'd be astounded @ how little the average American gives a fuck about your country or anything you do. Not sure where you get the idea that we're so excited about war with ya, but I know it wasn't from a regular ass, around-the-way American citizen. We don...

Six rules of life by Labkovsky

Labkovsky is a Russian psychologist. He is kinda famous for his six rules of life. Very basic, of course, and I know for a fact that I would benefit a lot if I stuck to these. 1. Do only what you want. 2. Do not do what you don’t want to do. 3. Immediately talk about what you don't like. 4. Do not a...
