just did the math

Post by motherjuggs&speed »

I haven't ever really thought about this before but people are smoking a hell of a lot of weed. I got curious and looked up some numbers. Not going to rehash them here but damn, people must be getting wrecked. And that's just weed and not all the other stuff.

We're doomed. I don't have any answers. I just noticed that a significant % of the still extant businesses in my town are weed stores and looked up the numbers. People have given up, that much is clear.

I know this isn't new but to me this went from being a news story to wondering what the hell is going on in my town. Looking at it in a new way.

Edit; I should explain this a bit. I've always thought of drug non-criminalization as a matter of personal rights and government overreach. But when I drive past closed businesses and houses where I'm not sure if anyone lives there anymore, I think that the weed stores have something to do with it. People are toking up and zoning out instead of trying to make things better. It's the opposite of 1998 when there was a Barstucks on every corner and people were getting after it. Now, they go to the weed store and get their vape on. You might think I'm trying to ruin the fun, but that's part of the problem, there's no one having fun anymore. People have turned away from life and the people left behind have to deal with the mess.
