Fat people should pay more for health care, for sewerage services (they do massive toxic shits), for environmental damage (farts), degradation of visual amenity (muffin tops, rounded flabby arms etc) and for bringing down the value of houses in the area where they live. They should be compelled to take night work and use back streets.

Katy Perry would support this if she wasn't in the straitjacket of celebrity.

I was struck by a similar observation this weekend; Friday I drove over to Philly, and stopped in a turnpike rest stop, which had a BurgerThing - in fact, the entire rest area was built around it.

I walked through the main aisle on my way out with my lunch (a couple protein bars and water), and was amazed / disgusted / bemused at the sheer amount of obesity and gluttony on display. People slamming down 3,000 calories, just to hop in their cars and drive. We're talking people proportioned like Weebles, with large rolls of fat hanging off them everywhere, with 64oz cups of soda in one hand, straws stuck in faces so fat you can't even tell they're sucking down anything, and the other hand instinctively scrabbling for the rest of the supersizeme fries.

Fuck, I actually felt lean there.

I think it was Tommy Fannon who once commented on Jeff Lewis, saying that he was so fat "he probably takes a shit and it oozes out from the center of his back a week later"

...which is what I think about every time I see an obese person and their backfat.

Fat people are big business. If something exists, there's a reason for it. Fatties generate trillions in revenue every year. Good luck trying to put an end to that.

Don't even get me started on Golden Corral or the local "All You Can Eat" Chinese Buffet.

The thing is, often those enormously fat people look so sad sitting there, surrounded by their plates of half-eaten food. Stuffing their gob is the only real pleasure left to them...and yet they're on that hedonic treadmill and their brains have developed a dopamine tolerance, and even going into a food coma isn't enough anymore.What's left when one more bite may turn you into Mr. Creosote and you're still anxious and lonely?
