Was watching it earlier. It was actually interesting.

Saw Mike Lee questioning Holder and thought he did well, too.

Visited the CNN homepage to see what attention they are giving to it. They are leading with how terrible the Syrian gov't is to be killing their own citizens, followed by news of a lion attacking a worker in a wildlife park and then something about Facebook thinking of changing things about their news feed.

Ron Wyden (D-OR) has helped out and the ACLU has said they support it - this kind of thing needs to be supported across all kinds of party lines.

This is the first complaint of my posting too little.

Holder's memo was not directed at Rand Paul even though it was addressed to him, he's already fairly marginalized. It was directed at Obama's sycophantical base.

Rand is pretty photogenic, speaks well, and hasn't pissed off religious conservatives-- he's a rising star whether the old guard likes it or not. He's the first libertarian since Goldwater to get any real traction with adult voters.

He also rubs a lot of people the wrong way. I think he's doing a great job but I don't hold out a tremdous amount of hope. At the end of the day I'd take just a handful of moderate or even old guard folks to stand up and say..what the actual fuck?

McCain was right to question torture, even if he's become a useless scab otherwise. For this to continue getting traction, we need another one of those...or heaven forbid, a democrat actual question their glorious leader.

Ron Wyden's lacking the national exposure and clout, but he's the only dem who went out in support of Paul the other day. He's pretty good on civil liberties from what I can tell.

Guys like Cruz, Lee... Amash may have an opportunity at a senate seat now that Levin's not running for re-election. 2016 may be a little too early, but something pretty awesome could be brewing.

Probably not, but I hold out hope.
