Darth's culinary experimentations

I like to cook, been getting into when after the hernia operation I could not do much, did not have cable so I watched a lot of PBS and therfore a lot of Jacques Pepin, Avec Eric and others.

But I'm not trained but just have a knack for throwing things together that don;t sound like they should work but many times it does.

I took 1 can of corn beef hash, some mashed potatoes, put them in a frying pan with a small dime of olive oil.

Then I added the spaghetti sauce I made last night (1 jar Newmen's Own Sockaroo, 1 big can of tomatoe sauce, onions, green peppers and a lbs. of hamburger)

To give it more solidness I added 1 chopped up apple ( I learned from Pepin that apple can goes with so many things you would not think of- I use it in a sauerkraut and Kelbasa dish I make as well, I have friends asking me about the next time I make my Pollock Stew.)

I intentionally burned it a little to help get out the excess moisture.

I was thinking it would either be disgusting or pretty good.

Well the shit is great.

Just thought I'd share it with you off work gov types. \:D/

It's sounds hideous, Darf. I'll take your word that it's good. But I'm still not gonna cook it.

How's the hernia treating you nowadays?

If a man can't cook, then he often eats shitty food.

What are you talking about?

Darf's got women with black eyes on leashes all around his place to do the cooking.

Better Shaf, much better. Even playing with non chick KBs without my balls feeling like they been stepped on.

Hoping to play with real weights in the winter, going to buy a Hex bar, make a platform and return to my favourite big lift, just with the Hex.

I just don't feel I want to mess with barbell DLs as DL for DL sake is not my goal. So hoping Hex DLs and KB 1 leg DLs will handle my DL needs as well as working with KB and BW squats sans a need to play in the cage (this year).

Slow but steady, hope to get to where I want to fuck with O-lifts again in a year or so.

Yes, a man needs to be able to cook.(For year I knew 5 dishes and that's about it.) It's a loot of fun for me to be honest. One of my few completely peacefull and nice hobbies other than dancing and playing with my little girl.

Spaghetti, bacon and eggs. Cook the noodles, fry the bacon with onions, drain noodles and super fast dump in hot bowl and dump in raw mixed up eggs. The hot noodles cook the eggs. Some Parmesan cheese and bacon and eat.

I like the way he does things. He's not all prissy or super smooth like many TV chefs, more like your gramps from France who can cook a mean meal.

He's got some wicked tricks. I crack eggs different because of him (and know, my mom pushed me out of the kitchen so I did not have many skills.)

His style of French cooking is the kind I like. Not a lot of weird shit but more country type food. He uses the fuck out of apples and such.

It's amazing how well apples (and raisens) blend with stuff you never thought it would

Saurkraut 3-4 cans
Squash 2, 1cut up, 1 shrreded
Mushrooms, 1 box
Kilbasa, 3
3 apples (I use 1 green, 1 Golden Delicious and 1 Gala)
2 potatoes
1 pack of frozen peas.
some raisins

Brown the Kilbasa in a pan with a little red wine in it.

Put it in a crock pot with all the other shit. (put the raisens in about 30 minutes before you start to serve.) Low to mid heat for 3 -6 hours, depedning on your taste.

I also throw in another can of kraut and another Kilbasa when we eat about 1/4 of it,to mix in and have more.

It's a take on a Polish dish I had with my step dad and his family growing up, but I Pepined that shit with the apples and raisins, the squash was my idea and they don;t brown the meat with wine either.

My brother (He has the polish blood) had this and thought I beat Grandma's and Pop's hands down!
