YO Nappy! Dog advices needed.

After a 6 year absence of a dog in the house; it's time to get a pooch.

Mrs. batboy wanted a fucking Chihuahua and I wanted an awesome American Bulldog. As a compromise, I've talked the Mrs. into a Miniature Schnauzer. Anything about this breed I should be aware of etc?

I'm naming the new pooch Krieger. Other than being one bitch'n name for a dog, it's an hommage to my favorite Archer Character.

Patterdale or Glen of Imaal Terrier. Google. Trust me.

Shaf,

I might as well get an American Bulldog. Giant Schnauzers are almost as big.

Big dogs and tiny small dogs (sorry Tom) are not being considered.

15 pound Patterdale. That's the average size. They are indeed, a lot of dog.

Terriers and rat dogs in general all have heart and are game for most anything. The problem with Patterdale's is that there isn't a breeder with driving distance of my location.

We will see.

I may know a guy who knows a guy. Raises Am Staff pulling dogs and has a little Patterdale that competes as well. I'll ask him.

The Patterdale's I have met are HUGE dogs...just physically diminutive. Love those little bastards.

I checked and my buddy put out the ask on FB for breeders in Wa/Or/Id, I'll PM you details if I get any.

For smaller dogs I really like French Bulldogs and Boston Terriers. Patterdales are awesome, too.

French bulldogs (while very cool looking) have all sorts of medical issues and don't weather cold or hot very well.

My last dog (Darby) was a Boston terrier that was all heart and no brains. He walked the earth like he was a 1,000 pound hell hound. I had to help save him from a couple of scrapes with larger & meaner dogs that would have used him as a chew toy if I hadn't been there.

I miss that pooch dearly.

Definitely let me know. I'll buy you a beer the next time I visit the emerald city.

The idea of getting a pocket hunting dog under the wife's radar is very appealing.

These are the original hunting version of the Boston Bully. Kept alive by small breeders. I looked into them at one point as well. I was getting a bit dog crazy.

I love Patterdales.

Now, what's this about giant schnauzers?

Yeah, there are dogs that are too much dog for me, the Patterdale sounds like one, especially since I wouldn't hunt him, and the Arctic dogs, husky, malamute, Samoyed....I don't think I could do it again. Now, an American bulldog, boxer, cane corso, Boerbels

Terriers have great heart & personality, but usually aren't great listeners, if that matters to you.

Batts, somebody mentioned to me a few weeks ago a dog breed I had never heard of before and thought they were bullshitting until I looked it up...the dog is called a "black mouth cur." It seems interesting and maintenance free but looks bigger than what you want.

Before you get a dog, you may want to ask yourself what is missing in your life that you think would be filled by bringing an animal into your house. If you don't have a qualified mental-health professional to help you work this out, I suggest paying a homeless crack addict by the to shit on your floor, shed on your sofa and growl at your kids.

Get a pit-weiner (dox-bull) mix. We have one and he is probably one of the best small dogs I have ever met.

Someone didn't train his dog right.

The logistics of the breeding is mind blowing.
