I was fully prepared to dislike this movie: I think Queen is okay as a band being the primary reason and I doubted the ability of the main actor to do the role.

It was surprisingly excellent. Directed by Bryan Singer (the Usual Suspects, X-Men), nicely shot, humorous, well told and the lead actor was terrific.
