One man was shot to death by Miami police, and another man is fighting for his life after he was attacked, and his face allegedly half eaten, by a naked man on the MacArthur Causeway off ramp Saturday, police said.

“We noticed an increase, probably after Ultra Fest,” Dr. Adams said.

Adams said the new LSD is commonly called “bath salts.” The drug, Adams said, can raise a persons body temperature to such a high degree that logic and the ability to feel pain are lost; then delirium sets in and that often leads to disaster.

And for fucks sake, bath salts is not "the new LSD". It's a fucking hallucinagen but LSD it ain't. Just for saying that shows the doc knows fuck all about this shit.

"Bath salts" are generally amphetamine derivatives. I say generally because its not like there's quality control watching over what goes into the product. Different amphetamines have different effects, depending on which neurotransmitter they are boosting. Those that affect norepinephrine, such as methamphetamine, are predominantly stimulants - both cardiac and mental. Those that affect serotonin, such as MDMA / ecstasy, provide the "happy buzz". And those that affect dopamine have hallucinogenic potential. Hang a different methyl group at a different point in the amphetamine ring, and you get a different combination of effects. Bathtub chemistry at its finest.

Based on my experience with patients freaked out on bath salts, there is both hyperstimulation and hallucination going on. I would have no problem believing Mr. Feral Zombie was jacked up on teh salts.

At least the officer had enough sense to shoot the bastard.

EVERY fucking zombie movie inevitably has a scene where a zombie, clearly a fucking zombie, is approaching an armed official of some sort and they can only stand there, shouting something mundane and retarded like, "You! Maybe they can transplant the face of the cannibal to the victim. It may even boost his self esteem.

Tough to say for certain - left eye is gone, looks like. Can't see how much of the nose cartilage is gone, the angle of the photo does not lend itself to depth perception. The left cheekbone could also be messed up, or that could simply be a flap of tissue folded over. Cheekbone is easiest to build back up, glass eye. skin grafting - won't look normal, but can cover. Final appearance depends on how much muscle loss, and the absence or presence of a nose.

Of course, we may just have to shoot him when he goes zombie.
