Legit tough it's Harley Race, Haku, Barbarian, Rick Rude, Ron Simmons, Brody, Mad Dog Vachon, Dan Hodge
The consensus top 2 are Harley and Haku/Meng though

There can be only one and he is old time by modern standards.
Also one of the most entertaining characters by far.

Damn! I forgot Harley Race. I've heard stories before but I've forgotten them.

Just recently read Rowdy Roddy Piper's autobiography, I'd out him on the list.

Harley Race, Piper and Dynomite Kid but I think they were all a little scared of Bad News Brown and
Billy Robinson is still a bad ass.

Ah I forgot about Bad News Brown. There's a great story about Andre backing down from him after instigating him on a long bus ride
Andre was getting hammered and kept calling Brown racial
slurs. He might have been throwing beer cans at him too. Brown got fed up and made the driver stop the bus, got out, and challenged Andre to get out an fight him. Andre wouldn't step to Brown, and was quiet the rest of the trip. Brown was an Olympian in Judo and won the bronze at heavyweight

One of favorite stories is about Ron Simmons, all american at FSU and first black world champ. His tag partner Butch Reed, a huge brother but a big softie, kept getting hazed by the boys including the Steiner Brothers, like getting tied up and covered in shaving cream or something. Ric Flair asked Ron, "How come they never fuck with you?"
Ron coldly said "Flair, I'm unfuckable."

Andre just felt bad for upsetting the little guy. Here's how it went down:
One time in the early 1980s during an early stint Bad News Brown had with WWE, the wrestlers were all on a bus traveling between shows. A very drunk Andre the Giant was in the back of the bus with Hulk Hogan and company telling racist jokes that Bad News Brown took offense to. Bad News Brown stood up, and yelled for him to shut up, then when he turned around, Andre cursed at him. Bad News Brown had the driver stop the bus, and told Andre to meet him outside. Andre refused, and Hogan, and others tried to soothe the situation. The next day Andre apologized to Bad News Brown. Bad News Brown later admitted he was glad nothing ever happened because he believed Andre could have really hurt him.
And this is what Andre could do when he lost his temper.
In the mid 1970s, four men were hassling Andre at a bar and he got angry and decided to so something about so he chased the guys out of the bar. They got in their car and thought they were safe. They were wrong. Andre proceeded to roll the car on to its roof and then left.

I've been watching the WWE "docs" on old wrestlers and it made me remember how much I loved(hated) some wrestlers and how they were an important part of my life.

Heh. I hated the Horsemen as a kid-- great heels. Not old school, but I really liked the Jericho WCW heel years too.

The Four Horsemen DVD is the best WWE doc IMO. In those days, the promos were as good as the wrestling, especially because they were ad-libbed and in the Horsemens case, they were really living the life they bragged about. Also good are the 2 Flair Discs, the first one being mostly matches and the second mostly documentary. Other very good ones are Road Warriors, Jake Roberts, and Brian Pillman. The Mr Perfect doc
is decent and has some great segments with Wade Boggs, his close friend. I haven't seen the Dusty Rhodes one, but I'm sure it's great as I love 1980s NWA

Bruno Sammartino for the WIN.
I saw Professor Toru Tanaka from ringside in Atlantic City and he was impressive up close and scary as hell to a teenager. I believe Tanaka and Mr. Figi hail from Fat's home state. Tanaka had a decent movie career as a badass in Missing in Action and Running Man.
