From an e-mail written in a pub on the way home.
Call me a wuss but this trip showed me unless we want to up the intensity level, we are gonna take a long time killing these asswipes by onesy twosey. We do a great job at this, but i am not sure it is worth the cost per hour of effort to fight Mr Obama's war. This was the war he said we should be fighting, and in a campaign it made good talking points, but unless we are seriously willing to lay down the killtusion on folks at an increased level, we need to GTF out of AG and let them fight over dirt that has the consistency of flour and stop worrying about womyn's rights in Muslim Countries. Hey, you are a muslim there Nabijah, did you expect to be treated like Hillary Clinton?
Perhaps bring Military home to secure our borders and build a fence around Paki and AG and then have Hill send an e-mail to the Indians, "Abu, please feel free to nuke any Taliban or AQ seeming behavior you feel led to strike, and we will replace any and all ordinance expended for free. Love, HC".

This kind of talk demoralizes the troops, compromises the mission, and puts American lives at risk.

How many more towers will we see fall?!?!?!?

Vasquez: All right, we got seven canisters of CN-20. I say we roll them in there and nerve gas the whole fucking nest.
Hicks: That’s worth a try, but we don’t know if it’s gonna affect them.
Hudson: Let’s just bug out and call it even, man! What are we even talking about this for?
Ripley: …I say we take off and nuke the entire site from orbit. It’s the only way to be sure.

No, when stuff like this happens

http://www.denverpost.com/nationworld/c ... tor-afghan

and laywers are consulted before any strike, the troops see a problem.

Win or go home.

The top commander of coalition forces in Afghanistan, Marine Gen. John Allen, said Thursday that although the reasons for the killings are not fully understood, the effect of Ramadan fasting is likely among the causes.

"The idea that they will fast during the day places great strain on them," Allen said, adding that the stress might have been compounded by Ramadan falling during the heat of summer and the height of the fighting season. He acknowledged that hunger and heat are not the primary causes for the killings, but they are among many "different and complex reasons for why we think this may have increased" lately.
The Afghan government asserted Wednesday that the attacks are the result of Afghan soldiers and police being brainwashed by agents of foreign intelligence services. Allen, speaking from Afghanistan to reporters in Washington, said he had yet to see evidence of that.
There's a load of bullshit.

The "war" is about about as un-Tsun as it can get. The number of highly trained operatives killed by IEDs is staggering. The whole thing is badly thought out and FUBAR at this point. The US had no business rushing into the Russian Vietnam to get dragged down this dead end and kicked in the gooleys on a repeated basis. It radicalises, it weakens and doesn't work. Far better to have surgically targeted a few key enemies and played out any strategic aims through proxy. The Ghan is and always has been a tribal swamp of blood lust and double-crossing. Fucking hostile as Pantera might say. GTFO and simply throw money and weapons at your preferred set of future leaders.

I'm not used to agreeing with you. It's happened a couple times lately.

They --- the enemy --- think terrorism is the only thing that will work in their favor. Single guys in suicide vests and the like. It offends us.

We --- the good guys --- don't like terrorism. We like DRONES. Death from above while a guy is sipping tea with his bros. Drones offend them.

I like drones as policy. It works just like terrorism but is more surgical and not aimed at, nor intended for, civilians.

Keep the force we need there for intel and direction. Drone on.

We can't even ensure that cops bust down the correct door in our own country. LOL at the idea that drones are "surgically precise".

At least we try. Many innocents die, but we we're after the bad guys.

The terrorist's job is terrify and kill innocents. If the guy the terrorist is having dinner with gets blown to hell, that's really too bad. Avoid having dinner with terrorists. Try not to live next to a terrorist. Don't socialize with him. Hell, don't even live in the same neighborhood: Cuz the drones are coming and they bring hell fire.

Most of the drone shoots come after hours and hours of observation, far more than cops do back stateside. The hellfire is just an exclamation point on a long exercise.

In their own way yes. A lot of people especially in the outskirts dont know they have a centralized government. They just want to live their lives and be left alone. There are innocents everywhere and it is unfortunate that they get involved or caught up in something that could lead to their demise.
